Where do negotiations stand? Both districts and the GL are allowing the company to kick the can down road and stall negotiations. What is their latest excuse? Government shut down? DOJ suit? Halloween in three weeks? Seriously this is taking far too long and the IAM seems content allowing it to continue. Will they remain steadfast in having CBAs before JCBAs and this association nonsense or will they do the company a favor like at UA and go straight to JCBA negotiations? Seems 142 is a tad more aggressive than 141, but neither seems especially interested in moving talks along.

And you're only interested so you can have ammo in your arguments against 700. It's been awhile but still not 4 years, which seems to be the norm. Welcome to the RLA

I think with all that is going on the IAM does not really know which way to go.
This is also typical on how the TWU has conducted business in the past at AA.
They follow instead of taking the lead and get things done. Who really knows when negotiations will move for you guys. The IBT threat woke up the IAM and now they went back to sleep. Wait and see is SOP these days. Looking further down the road if the Association actually does go through it will be no different than what is happening right now except the two unions will only blame each other for lack of progress. I think things will be slow for now probably because of the DOJ lawsuit. Why negotiate if we do not know the outcome of the lawsuit and the merger. Do you negotiate a contract based on the future merger or a stand alone company?

Very funny, its actually a completely reasonable and timely question and the post isn't directed at 700. Besides he hasn't been on the NC since 2005 how would he have any info/insight the membership doesn't?

Troll much?

Wait, of course you do. What possible motivation or interest would you have to start a new labor related topic? How will it affect you and your life either way?

I fly US fairly regularly to DCA and AA is my primary airline (far more than US), so I do have an interest in labor peace and a smooth operation. Besides, this forum is not restricted to current employees, plenty of former and non-employees actively contribute to these discussions. If you don't like the topic being discussed don't read or post about it, simple as that.

Negotiations are exactly where the district briefing says they are. Fleet goes back the first week in November, and mechanics go back this month the week of the 15th. Company hasn't been making any excuses. Both 141 and 142 ask to be released. We haven't been waiting on the company. When you are under the authority of the NMB, they call the shots unless you are granted release by them. The NMB just called the two sides back to the table on the dates posted above.

As far as fleet is concerned, we have always made it clear that we are under our section 6 negotiations as US Airways only. And we will not go into joint talks until we get our section 6 talks completed. This has been our stance all along, and has not changed.

I'm positive he's quite aware of the status of negotiations and the process.

His sole purpose on these boards is to attack the IAM and labor in general.

You're naive if you think he's not connected to the process in some way and is advancing his own self interests. Think --- why else would he spend such an inordinate amount of time pushing his agenda here.

I would never infringe on your right to be a propagandist on these boards. Type away.

But the purpose of this thread and your motives are quite transparent, you're not nearly as clever as you believe you are.

Talk to Jerry lately?
