IAM IBT Debate, Will it happen

Whats the source you are using for your figures? It wouldnt happen to be an anti-union site would it?

The attempt to justify poor representation for mechanics by the IAM by claiming that since UPS flies cargo, not passengers, therefore mechanics at UPS should get around $10/hr MORE, is very weak. Are people less valuable than cargo? The same A&P liscence is used at either place. Why should passenger airlines get cheaper labor rates than cargo airlines? Do they get fuel at cheaper rates?
Because they have an open checkbook, with the airline division making up a very small amount of their bottom line.

Not because of outsourcing or anything else.

Their drivers make good money so that just makes the techs make more. You can't have a driver make more than a tech and the IBT uses that as a bargaining tool for the techs

UPS is not a scheduled airline, it is a cargo company.

Andy handles boxes, he does not fix planes not is a licensed AMT.
HA?

Actually the airline part of UPS makes up 19% of the company, however accounts for almost 37% of profit.

UPS falls under far part 121. and yes they have had scheduled flights as a airline
Worldport is the home base of UPS Airlines, the ninth largest airline in the world with 275 aircraft. UPS air operations encompass over 1,800 flight segments each day and reach into nearly 800 gateways around the world.
