Passing Of Phl F/a

I would like to express my sincere condolences on the recent passing of Warren.

Although I didn't know him personally, I did come to realize his great kindness, dedication and professionalism at Airways from speaking with several employees that had the pleasure of working with him.

No comfort is quite enough to replace the loss. May he rest in peace and his memory live on…

What can you say about such a great person as Warren? Well, just after Sept. 11, 2001 when they finally let us back onto the airport property and the flights were starting to land again the EAP, AFA, and Company spent from morning until late each night meeting flights and taking care of anyone who wished to talk. Warren took care of all the care takers. He was there every morning with food, candy, a warm smile and a big heart. He will be missed every minute of every day. Good bye good friend, you made a lasting impression on everyone you met!

High Flight

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth.
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings,

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,

I've chased the shouting wind along and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace,

Where never lark, or even eagle, flew;
And, while with silent, lifting mind i've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee Jr.

I never had the good fortune of meeting Warren, but judging by the comments here he was a fine gentleman. It always saddens the heart when one of our "family" slips the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God before their time....
