Cheering on 'other people' to fall on their sword while not standing up to their 'own' principles is not uncommon?

I do believe your onto something - sounds like he is ex-UAL, got laid off, became disgruntled and is now scabbing at NWA and trying to justify his cowardly actions.

Northwest to meet with striking mechanics union
Northwest Airlines will meet with representatives from its mechanics union Thursday to discuss contract negotiations. Workers walked off the job on Aug. 20 after talks broke down. Northwest has hired replacement workers to help it fly through the strike.
