In a stunning decision, the Supremes decided against allowing the death penalty for convicted child rapists. ''The death penalty is not a proportional punishment for the rape of a child,'' Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in his majority opinion. The Majority also noted that there is a "national consensus" that the death penalty is never acceptable for the rape of a child. I disagree! I also disagree with the majority's cruel and unusual punishment analysis.
