WWII vet, beaten by teens outside Eagles Lodge, dies

SPOKANE, Wash. -
WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening.

Belton, 89, died from the injuries he suffered in the beating Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Witnesses say the Belton was in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the two male suspects attacked him.

Belton was sporting a jacket with a fold up hoodie which may have enraged the attackers.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson haven't expressed their outrage yet apparently waiting for President Obama to take the lead. Afterall, Belton could have been Obama's Grandfather.

While I could give a rats ass about Jessie and Al (somehow only conservatives seem to lend them any credence), you guys seem so damn focused on what they think that you lose sight of anything. Old man gets attacked. Hope the kids rot in jail and hell for that. Was the old man pursuing them for doing nothing? A little different. Of course, for you guys it's all "black and white". You'll take one story of a bunch of thugs and try to make it relate to a story about a kid that did nothing, yet got killed by a brave ass hole(not like the ones who always get away) with a gun.

Good one, KC......how's the gated community?

Sorry KC,
Your missing the whole damn picture.
Lil Trayvon shouldn't have been killed, but he was, in part by his own actions.
People get killed and brutalized by all races, this old man being just one.
Where is the outcry in this one?
Ah, just some old white dude getting wacked by a couple of black kids (KIDS).

The left focused on lil Trayvon as a public outcry as white on black racism, even though there was none.
Why not the outcry of the 'other' folks, black, white, yellow, brown getting murdered on a daily basis?
Lots of black on white, black on black, brown on brown, etc... gets swept under the rug while this brown on black killing makes headlines.

It's a crock!

If you can't see that, then you are beyond help.
JMHO,

I didn't let Jesse or Al or CNN or the "liberal media" influence me in the Martin case. Dude with a gun had courage he might have lacked had he not. Dude with a gun confronts a 17 year old NWA ..kind of like many 17 year olds, white or black. Dude with a gun finds himself on the wrong end of a beat down. Dude with a gun "stands his ground".

That has absolutly NO similarity to the story cited in this original post. To think that it does is disingenuous at best.

Then there is the fact that Zimmerman was not arrested after the murder. That seems to be something the conservatives always neglect to mention. All the other cases brought up have a suspect who is in custody or they are looking for a suspect.

Why was there all the out cry over the white girl who got murdered in the Caribean but not the black girl was was murdered right around the same time?

There have been numerous studies (feel free to look them up) that clearly show the bias in coverage regarding crime by/agaist minorities vs non-minorities. There is bias in the media, law enforcement and te judicial system. It exists regardles of whether folks like South want to acknowledge it or not.

Was the local police following the law which was upheld even after Obama pressured Fla to prosecute.
You call that a conservative thing?

That is not the issue. The issue at the time was that a person was killed, they knew who did the shooting and based on his statement he was set free. There was no trial to determine his guilt or innocence. There did not seem to be any investigation into what happened. People had a problem with that. I know I had and still have a problem with that.

KC is right, and, the major race issue raisers were the right bitchin' that it wasn't a race issue.

It probably wasn't about race. Xcpt maybe to Jackson and Sharpton, who are both desperate for attention and probably couldn't help themselves if they even realized what they were doing.

The real outrage was about a self appointed tough guy, who went looking for trouble. He found some, which he could have avoided by simply letting the police do their job, as they repeatedly asked him to do.

There was no imminent danger or threat that called for his intervention.

When he found the trouble he went looking for, he found out he couldn't handle it, so he shot an unarmed man. In "self defense", during a fight he went looking for, and couldn't handle.

I don't think The Duke would be impressed. Much.

Georgie, however, got due process. The full ticket. Notified of the charges, a thorough investigation, and a trial with a vigorous defense overseen by a qualified judge and decided by a jury. All of the things our constitution says we are entitled to.

He was acquitted, and legally speaking, rightfully.

So don't start that argument as a deflection.

Trayvon got none of that. Instead, he got shot dead by a scared little man who appointed himself patrolman, investigator, judge, jury, and ultimately executioner. He got shot dead because he dared to stand his ground when faced with harassment by a pussy with a gun, who thought he looked like he might do something bad, and created a confrontation that he wasn't man enough to handle any other way.

Real impressive.

And nothing in common with any of the hundreds or thousands of other senseless acts of violence, apparently every single one of which some dork is going to bring up as "evidence" of some kind of conspiracy or bias or something.

To those dorks, where is your outrage? You don't seem near as upset about the senseless violence itself as you seem eager to make some weird obtuse point that only your fellow outrage seekers are ever going to understand.

You fail to adhere or recognize the existing law in Florida. Evidence and testimony followed it to a tee. Obama and his DOJ did not like the outcome of the investigation. With that said, where is the civil rights lawsuit the left were frothing over to get even at the last straw?

From what I remember reading there was no investigation. He said it was self defense and that was pretty much the extent of it. The more in depth investigation took place after a lot of people got pissed off that there was no investigation.
