Talking to someone today, they said U no longer has the 180 rule but back to 120.
Do any of you know which is true?

The 180 rule was suspended by the FAA earlier this year. Not sure if US Airways got approval to return to 180 ETOPS. I suspect the answer is no.

There was some questionable maintenance going on.

We are on the 180 rule. I think the 120 was for the 767 for a short time.

AFIK, US doesn't really need to Europe dispatched flights under the 180 min rules; 120 min rule works fine. Sometimes, it's useful on MAD and FCO flights, depending on the winds. (You do kinda need it West Coast-HNL). I remember once seeing a 767 flight dispatched under the 60 min rule, not sure what was broken/MELed on the plane. The routing was way up north. (Alternates at KEF, SFJ, YFB)

Shirley,

I beg to differ regarding the use of 180mins. We most certainly need it when
the enroute alternates of KEF and Lajes do not meet the alternate requirements.
It is useful for all the cities on the Continent as well as LGW/MAN.
