What's new

1549 LGA-CLT

I agree the pilot did his job, but can someone please explain to me what the flight attendants did? I would bet they, DID THIER JOB...Why is it the media and public only view us as servers in the sky? THE FLIGHT ATTENDANTS SAVED THE PASSENGERS LIVES AS WELL...Thank god for their training also. Why does everything in this industry have to be one sided? What would the press be saying if the pilots survived, and nobody else did? Let me guess? The Flight attendants wern't properly trained.

I know. Flight attendants are not sky waitresses like many believe. We are safety professionals! Today they evacuated the airplane and ensured everyone was off the airplane safely! They didn't leave the aircraft until all pax were off. Every year in recurrent we do a cabin prep and ditching and review what to do in these situations so if they do arise, we can make sure everyone gets out safely like they did today. We are on the airplane for emergencies and today there was an emergency and the f/as did exactly what they were trained to do. That'a what they are there for. It was definitely a team effort.

Hey flyboy, according to the news, people were in a panic at first, then someone calmed them all down.

I'm guessing it was an FA!

Passengers and witnesses that have been interviewed are praising the ENTIRE crew.....pilots and flight attendants.
Many prayers and kudos for a job well done to the crew. Thanks to God that everyone survived.

Here's an idea for Doogie and Tempe: GIVE ALL RESCUE WORKERS FREE AIR TICKETS!! It's the least US Airways can do to say THANK YOU!

P.S. Sully's birthday is January 23. Think we ought to get some big BDAY cards signed and sent to him.

The entire crew did a great job!!! Our training and professionalism shown through in this incident. To those injuried ;God speed on your recovery. I would be proud to fly with any of you.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Mr. Parker ala British Airways after their B777 accident at LHR; bring the entire crew, on a press conference, to praise congratulate them and thank them for a wonderful job.

I think it would go a long way.

Wolf Blitzer was pretty generous in his praise of the ENTIRE flight crew.

Frankly from everything I've seen there is plenty of people worthy of praise.
  • Pilot
  • F/O
  • Flight Attnedants
  • The Water Taxi Crews
  • The Rescue Workers

Even the customers who didn't freak out and followed the safety professionals who guided them into the waiting arms of theire rescuers.

Everybody is alive because everybody did what they were supposed to do when they were supposed to do it.

I am beyond impressed the whole way 'round.

Very nice words, Piney.

My hat is off to everybody - and I mean everybody - involved with this. Had there been one single link missing in the chain you've outlined in your post, the outcome could have been very different.

Gosh, what a tremendous job by everyone......

The entire crew should be honored at our next presidents State of the Union Address...

To put this in perspective what the crew and passengers did today is way north of 1 in a billion in terms of scenario and survivability and they made it look like a walk in the park

This will be taught in aviation as textbook for decades.

Great job by all!

1 billion, somewhere close to the number of dollars that crew saved the company today?
