U.S. Airways flight 1549 also known as the "Miracle on the Hudson" navigates an exit ramp near Burlington, New Jersey. The airplane which made a crash landing in the Hudson River in New York, in January 2009 is being taken to the Carolinas Aviation Museum where it will be on permanent display.

So is 1549's the first aircraft wreckage in history to get sponsorship decals?

It is an aviation axium that guy with the whitewash is on the heels of the CFR trucks after an avaition incident to mask the name and logo of the unfortunate airline. I believe that it's an avitiaon first that the carrier name remains intact, but there are those of sponsors of the bent hull.
