American and Southwest grounded on Wed. temporarily. They shut down the Air Traffic Controllers building for disinfecting and cleaning for approx 1-2 hours. Flights cancelled and delays big time. As of Thursday morning Southwest was almost back to the norm. with only 4 delays reported from the shut down while over at DFW, American still reported 55 cancellations with 28 delays from the shut down. With the current weather in Tx and the wintry mix just west of 35, it may take another day or two to clear up all the cancellations and delays and get back to the norm.

Yes they were. These 2 airlines mentioned were affected the absolute most by a large amount. No other airlines were mentioned in most all the local news reporting, not even Delta or Spirit. Seemed to only focus on the 2 with their headquarters located here in the DFW area.

"Seemed to only focus on the 2 with their headquarters located here in the DFW area."

Yes indeed, the local DFW news focused on the airlines headquartered....wait for it........in DFW.

The stupid part of this shutdown was the employee in question who had a positive test last worked at the ATC facility 5 days ago.
It’s insane to shutdown air traffic for this when the science of this virus say how rare it is that anyone can contract the virus via touch of items or the space used, especially after 5 days
The world has gone made over this China plague

Also just saw on news that DFW was shut down again last night with hundreds of delays and some more cancellations due to the Covid-19. This time only DFW as Love Field was not affected this time around. If I run across an article on it I will add later...
