Delta Air Lines, will offer customers a second daily nonstop flight between the United States and Israel with service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tel Aviv, effective March 10, 2008*. The new flight builds on Delta's successful launch of nonstop flights between Atlanta and Tel Aviv in 2006 and will position Delta as the only U.S. airline to offer customers nonstop service from two U.S. gateways to Israel.

Smart move by Delta, and good use of a 737-300ER. No waisted 777 here, couldn't a 764 do the Atlanta to TLV run ?

neither the 767-300er or the 767-400er can fly that leg...atl -tel aviv

I wonder what LY thinks about this... Then again, I understand the load factors for Tel Aviv - NY metro area (EWR and JFK) are very high.

With LY pulling out of ORD, DL may steal some Pax a la MDW-JFK-TLV.

I understand CO wants to start IAH-TLV in the coming years, however I would predict IAH - DOH, DXB, etc before TLV.
