Well another raice baiting rush to judgement. Seems that 2 men have been arrested and are being charged this very day. Based upon the news I've read to date the system is working as Chief Jordan had asked the FBI for help almost immediately. I found some of his quotes to be very much on target as to the appropriate response of a Police Department is.

Though all five of the victims were black, Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan said it was too early to know whether the shootings were racially motivated.

"The whole race issue, the hate crime issue, there's a very logical theory that would say that's what it could be, but I'm a police officer, I've got to go by the evidence," Jordan said, adding that no racial slurs had been used by the gunman.

"It's just not time for us to say that," Jordan said. "Right now I'm worried about more of my citizens being murdered."

Turns out that it may well have been more about one man's grief than raw racism as the quote below indicates.

The alleged shooters reportedly posted status updates on facebook alluding to the shooting prior to the crimes. England's girlfriend recently died and his father was shot and killed exactly 2 years ago on April 5, 2010. A Black man is doing time for that crime.

Did his grief over his father and girlfriend's death bubble over into a hate crime against people who looked like his father's killer?

His Facebook page, read, "Today is two years that my dad has been gone shot by a fuc*ing nigg** it's hard not to go off between that and sheran I'm gone in the head." Sheran Hart Wilde was reported his girlfriend who died recently.

Unrelenting grief is a powerful thing, I know I've been there and there but for the Grace of God it could have been any of us with our hand on the trigger. The police, FBI and the Marshall service are doing their job correctly and efficiently. They should be applauded as it appears they have their men. One apparently very distraught and grief stricken man does not a race war make. The motivations will come out at trial and we shall see. Talking about race riots and race wars is inflammatory, inappropriate and unnecessary.

Speaking on a panel at law school conference last week, Innocence Project Policy Director Stephen Saloom (left) pointed to some of the ways minority groups face injustice in our system.

Wrongful convictions are caused by both systemic flaws in our criminal justice and by external variables, Saloom said, including subtle factors that subconsciously affect who we perceive as guilty or innocent and how people conduct investigations. These human factors mean race has an impact in our courts. “When considering stereotypes and the disproportionate minority contact in the system, we have a greater propensity to think people of color may have done something,” he said.

According to the Baltimore's police chief, the videotaped beating of a white tourist does not appear to be a hate crime, but rather "drunken opportunistic criminality" on the part of a gang of Charm City assailants.

Of course this would have been classified as a hate crime if the white victim had pulled his 40 and shot the boo dead on the spot.
