500mil More?

Don't even think about it Dave. MrFish was fired from United, so now he's an angry old man.

We fly over 200,000 people everyday and you all are complaining about giving away a handfull of tickets? Sound like good P.R. to me.

Oh, right. Something like 100 people appeared on stage at the Emmy's last night. Each of them received 2 F/C tickets from UAL worth a total of $10,000.
UAL must be rolling in money and there must be no need for BK if they have that level of freebies to throw around.

Oh, and as far as the P.R...I heard it on a TV gossip show. I'm sure millions heard it, and ran out and bought tickets on UAL in gratitude for the largesse bestowed upon TV stars.

ummmmm, those tickets cost NOTHING

Didn't say they did. But if a F/C seat is filled with a butt flying on a freebie--and these are not nonrev standbys--it can't be sold to a revenue passenger. And, according to the report there was no restriction on the destinations up to the value of $5000/seat. I would be willing to bet that none of the recipients is going to use it to fly from ORD to DEN. Those seats are going to be used in the International service that is helping to pay the bills.

2 seats...big deal. Besides, those people never fly without their entourage, who will now have to buy tickets on us at the regular fare.

2 seats EACH for upwards of 100 people. Hey, but as I said, with the additional concessions you can take pride that you helped fund a seat giveaway.

Jimntx,

See this goes to show everyone that UAL is still way to focused on what happens outside their company instead of getting down to the brass tacks of what really ails UniTED. As at USAIR, soon UniTED will be saying that wage concessions are the only thing that will save UAL. 1.6B more is alot of money for the employees to dish out in concessions and job losses.

But all the Emmy winners will be happy right? Amazing if they gave out 100 $5000 tickets, that's a half million bucks. What a bunch of idiots in their marketing department. I think the BK judge should make the winners give back the tickets myself. That would be quite an embarrassment to the dummies running UAL.

Wow.....all this spewing b#%&sh&t from a guy who was fired from United. Surprised? Lmaoooooooooo

Fired from UAL? Wow, you've got to royally screw the pooch to have that happen. But it is obvious he's got some serious issues regarding UAL. Nonetheless, I wish him and everyone at F9 the best. This isn't a time to wish ill on anyone, anywhere in this industry.

People, that means everyone, take a chill pill and back off the lame insults. Show some professionalism.

Cheers,

"Yeah, I really do feel better now!"

ZMAN,

Fly's the one that spewed the information that I was fired from UALHELL. She doesn't know ANYTHING about me. I re-signed from UAL and gave up my re-call rights to go to work at F9 back here at home in Denver. UAL never turned out to be what they advertised themselves to be when they hired me on working the line in LAX. I don't care if they were paying $100 bucks an hour I'D NEVER WORK FOR THAT DEFUNCT company AGAIN!

So Fly doesn't have any idea what she is talking about, slanderous at best. But It doesn't bother me any. I am not worrying day to day if I'll have a job tomorrow. Working at F9 is the difference between night and day. I lived in the dark and treated like a shroon at UAL. But now nothing but sunshine in my life everyday, and much nicer people to work with at F9.

But I won't get myself tied up in name calling, lies, and rumors with FLY. I won't post my PERSONAL opinions about anyone person here EXCEPT the inept management of UAL.

We're talking about UAL here; even if all of these free tickets are used, it is highly unlikely that any revenue pax would be displaced. Some NRSA employees might be POd, but these tickets cost UAL nothing.

How many UAL flights go out every day (or every year) with with F at a 100% revenue LF (not counting upgrades)?? Has a UAL flight ever departed with each and every seat in F paid for at full fare? Maybe a few, but it doesn't happen with regularity. If it did, UAL wouldn't be in such dire shape.

UAL announced an operating AND net profit for July, FRNT warns it will lose money during the busiest Q of the year.

Bus,
Your comparing apples to oranges. Not to defend one or the other, but what UAL reports in July may be the same thing F9 reported, a profit. I don't know, but you need to compare months to months or quarters to quarters. Then we'll all be on the same page

I know, everyone's an expert....
But, considering we're going to start premium service on our L.A. to NY flights, which include our very comfortable first-class sleeper seat, it sounds like something these so-called stars and their business accociates may be interested in. Again, good p.r. to me. Although, maybe I should call H.Q. and tell them to scrap everything on account of a furloughed A.A. guy who thinks it's a bad idea......
