As with Bus/Seque, and now Fly, I am moving out of the UAL threads. But I will continue to watch in the coming weeks and months as UAL'S situation worsens with each passing 30 day BK extension. GOOD LUCK!

Promise? See ya never

I just want to see what the business plan is. All I am doing is adding up the monthly losses and accountability errors. It seems to me that UA doesnt have a clear plan except cut pay, etc with no clear vision of anything. My local management for the most part are good people but they are clueless as well as where we are headed. They said just trust Tilton to see us through. I seem to feel I am on the Titanic and there aren't enough lifeboats.
🙁

FLY,

I'll still be watching the DEMISE of UAL though. Have a good flight!!!!

lmao.....Is voyeurism something you spend a lot of time doing? Do your neighbors know? 😱 Is that why you were fired?

Busdrvr & Fly,

Thank you for your posts. Bus, who knows, we probably do know each other, as the airline industry is a relatively small circle. Wouldn't I be embarrassed if I found out that we were beer drinking buddies.

In any case, you seem to be very insightful and educated about the airline industry as a whole including F9. My point is that the industry is so volatile that it is impossible to guess where any carrier might end up. There are so many variables to consider, such as potential mergers, buy-outs, or sudden service vacuums, which would create unforecast opportunity. Current data or trends could be thrown out the window at a moments notice. That is why I will never predict the failure of any airline. The only thing for certain is that the industry can not operate in its current fashion indefinately. Something will have to give sooner rather than later. Did F9 over-expand? Yes. Will they report a loss this quarter? Yes. Will they be around for their 20th Anniversay as Mr. Fish proclaims? I don't know, but they seem to have a great operation and are taking the necessary steps to retrench and build for their future. I hope they do because I don't want to start over again.

As I have said before, I hope the best for the UAL employees. I think that our companies can successfully coexist and become profitable as long as we don't kill each other in the meantime. Usually its best to compete against the devil you know instead of the devil you don't.

Hear a rumor about UAL selling some pacific routes along with 22 777s.

Really? Where's the link? Or did you make that up?

If this did happen, I would ask:

Is this the highest payscale for pilots?
Does Ual own these outright?
In this market, could they get a fair value for them?
How many do they have?
I thought all the Pacicif routes made more money than domestics and this is what has helped Ual stay afloat?

Note: I have never wished any employee at UAL to lose their livelihood. I have only ALWAYS pointed out that your management is the one that is going to make you un-employed not F9. Frontier will be a survivor when this industry finishes this shake down.

Fish,
Do you really think that many management people read these boards and would care at all about what you have been spewing here?
Your bs was an attack on the employees who read this board, and you were always trying to bait them. 3 years is not much to lose when you have a lot of employees here who can't really move on because of there life they devoted to a once very secure job.
You never even came off of b-scale.
If you really beleive what you posted, then a little therapy, might be in order for you.
You need not respond. Good luck to you at f9 and get over Ual. You really don't have that much to forget.

LOL, if UAL sold the pacific routes then they might as well go out of buisness. Be real man, those are the money makers for United.

That's a blanket statement..................Do YOU really know that they don't read here???????
Just like you they have a curiosity for any news that affects their company and this forum may just be one of those avenues that they can use to keep their finger on the pulse of employee moral. 😱

That's right Borescope, remind them how UAL took Dennis to court over at THE_MECHANIC.COM to try to subpoena IP addresses of employees that were talking of work slow downs and such during the contract negotiations. And how they even terminated people because of it.

ATABUY,

They watch, you can bet on that! And as with FLY/BUS and now you, not knowing who I am or when/what/where I was at UAL. I had six years there when I threw in the towel and left that crap hole! I wasn't fired as Fly rants on about, and I don't have Herpes like she says I do 😛 . Keep the funnies coming; I am trying to be a bit nicer here. B)

But your current management if not replaced will wear you all down and run UniTED straight into the dirt just like the management at USAIR is.

I thought you said you weren't going to post on here anymore......I didn't say you HAD herpes....I said you ARE herpes (just keeps coming back)

I don't think anyone has to go any further than the lunch room to get a pulse on employee morale.
I don't see how 20 or 30 employees will give you a true sense of Ual either.

You guys are part of the problem or the solution. Your choice.
