A Convenient Truth !

There is no 'do over' button.

Yes there is......they come in mile wide forms out of space and set the regenerate mode into motion on earth.

There is no proof one way or the other that the next cataclysmic event that the earth encounters will result in a 'do over'. Depending on the size of the event, it could turn the earth in to a baron rock devoid of all life. Either way, we will not be around to see what happens. Barring such an event, I would suggest a more cautious approach in caring for our current one an only home.

I can only wonder if what ever other life forms are out there would even let us out of our solar system given our poor stewardship of our home.

Just like global warming.....

Cos...a huge asteroid hits mid US.....its going to be felt all across the country.

I am not denying that. I merely stated that the result of the even will be dependent on the size of the event. If it is a very large event, it could wipeout all life, if it is a smaller event, it could merely wipe out higher life forms or life in a certain region. The main point is that there is no do over senario in which we as humans will survive should we screw up our one and only home.

And there's more of that "Pseudoscience" thing again !

Who's to say that other life forms and yes I do believe there are some, are better stewards of their planet, than us !

On top of that ,who's to say they are even more intelligent than us !

Maybe it just could be that we on Earth are the ones who are doing the best at taking care of our planet. Who knows, maybe compared to us other solar systems may look like the Clampetts live there.

Who is to say they are not. I am working with the assumption that a life form that has the ability to travel among the stars has also developed a respect for the universe. That assumption in no more/less valid than your's. I never implied any type of 'pseudoscience'. For arguments sake I will even go so far as to grant your supposition that we are the best steward of our home. Who cares? The question is do you think we are doing the best that we can? I do not. In my opinion, we are doing a piss poor job.

Given that our planet is approximately 6 billion years old and homo sapiens have been on it for a mere 500,000 years I think it is quite arrogant to assume that humans are the smartest species in the universe. Out of the billions and billions of stars and who knows how many planets that could support life, I think it is quite likely that we are not alone and that at least a hand full are more advanced.

Also, given the thousands of 'sightings', some of which have been made by very intelligent professionals I find it hard to believe that all of them are false.

I think you are setting the bar way too high..............

I think it is quite arrogant to assume that humans are the smartest species in the universe.

Why can't we be arrogant? I haven't met another species that is smarter. After all, we have Enzo Ferrari.

What do you base this "hand full" amount on? Is this just a personal hunch?

Yea, you're right. Expecting us not to poison the land, water and air is far too high a bar..... continue with your environmental plan .. it's going great so far.

No chit? You have not met an alien? It's all over the paper.

Given that there are no confirmed sightings of any alien life form and Spock has not come down from the heavens, yes... it's a hunch. I believe it is arrogant to assume that out of all the stars and planets out there, this is the only rock that developed life. Statistically that strikes me as odd, statistically unlikely, not too mention sad.

Meanwhile...back at the ranch

CNN Meteorologist Chad Myers had never bought into the notion that man can alter the climate and the Vegas snowstorm didn’t impact his opinion. Myers, an American Meteorological Society certified meteorologist, explained on CNN’s Dec. 18 “Lou Dobbs Tonight†that the whole idea is arrogant and mankind was in danger of dying from other natural events more so than global warming.

“You know, to think that we could affect weather all that much is pretty arrogant,†Myers said. “Mother Nature is so big, the world is so big, the oceans are so big – I think we’re going to die from a lack of fresh water or we’re going to die from ocean acidification before we die from global warming, for sure.†😱

Another CNN meteorologist attacked the concept that man is somehow responsible for changes in climate last year.

His comments drew a strong response and he recanted the next day saying “the globe is getting warmer and humans are the likely the main cause of it.â€

Agenda or your job...........

..................or 7 billion people are having an adverse impact on the earth's environment.
