HF radio perhaps? VHF is what is used when in line-of-sight and HF is used when not in line-of-sight,

Something people use to call one another over the ocean? A long range something. Oh shut up. I was a history major what do you want? You're a pilot so I am sure you know. It's a radio you have use & the second is a backup or something to fly EOW. Yes No Maybe....?

Side note History says it's VHF... Big whooop. Unless we are over 30 West blah. There is some ice sheet we can glide in on.

I just figured BoeingBoy would tell us all what it is.

ok... we go with that radio! it was something or another like that. All I know is I sounded like Darth Vader making a PA and missed my dinner date.

FYI,

VHF is line of sight communication to land stations--ATC in the US is currently VHF.

HF is much lower frequency and can travel further--used for oceanic communications.

I guess someone in US MTC management must have stock in ST MRO in BFM, wonder if Bronner has his hands in the cookie jar still.

Info on BFM from the FAA:
Certificated Mechanics: 301
Repairmen: 40
Non-Certificated Mechanics: 363
Total Employees: 1087

any update to the news about the plane

From what I just heard as of two days ago. Something must have gone awry during that Acceptance flight so they are working on the aircraft to correct whatever problem came up. That frame could be in pieces again for all we know. I think it will be pretty funny if 280 shows up on property before 279!

It's been ready since last week. Not paid for yet.

I have no idea if this is correct or even possible but I was told that they are putting 767 first class seats in the temporary Envoy cabin of the new 330-200s. Since all of the heavy maintenance is being done on the 767s in Mobile, maybe thats where the stocks are.

Just a guess. Maybe you can shed some light on this?

Not all of the heavy is done in BFM, some of it has come back inhouse and they seats are kept in CLT and other points in the system as BFM is not a stocking station where rotables are kept for stock, shipping and usagte.

Keep on topic of the new A330, and do not discuss union politics regarding shops here. There is already a thread for IAM related issues.
