Hey all. I am asking for some help from the AMT's and 330 pilots out there. When connecting the PCA to an A330 is there a valve or switch that needs to be set or adjusted in order for the preconditioned air to acutally blow into the cabin? The question arises from a carrier we handle with this type that we can never seem to get the preconditioned air into the cabin and end up with them running the APU and packs every day which of course wastes their fuel. We are getting conflicting answers from the carriers engineering staff and the contract mechanic they use here. An answer by PM would be much appreciated. Thanks for any answers or help.

I know in CLT when we hooked up the air, there was nothing else that had to be done for it to work.

There is no valve to open. Just hook it up and turn it on.
Sounds like the carrier you were refering to has some technical issues with their aircraft.
Maybe a duct leak or leaking check valve.

ref amm 12-33-21 in EMMA if you have a NW computer. in short what it says is hook it up and

1: make sure the ground service bus is energized.

2: make sure the CAB FANS push button switch is in the ON POSITION {on the 212VU overhead panel. lower right corner above the right wiper switch}

3: note in red is a warning that the fwd avionic door 811 be open and tagged to prevent the A/C from pressurizing.

Also it says do not use the packs at the same time as the ground units, as it can damage the check valves. :up:

hope this helps.
