Why don't the two of you grow up. Apparently the USA is a democracy with freedom of choice...that includes the choice not to join a union if that is what you desire. Why should people be forced to join a union. Maybe it's time you put your energies into lobbying your elected leaders to increase workers rights and protections by acts of government instead of paying dues to a corrupt labour organisation which, when you look at it, doesn't give a toss about its members anyway.

Have you ever as an individual contacted your "elected" officials and gotten them to act the way you wanted?
Political influence takes:
Money, lots of it. If you have it, supporting the amt's cause is not in your interest.
Personal influence, are you a buddy of your representative? Maybe college chum, witness to his youthful indiscretions?
So utterly brilliant in your argument that your representative can't fail but follow your advice? In which case why are you not an influential and wealthy lobbyist?

You address the union membership issue. Your opinions on union membership are fine, and have some valid points. But you did not address my accusation that he is a troll. Trolls are poison to every forum. Have you read his earlier posts at the NWA forum? He is a troll and has not changed his spots.
The fact that he is a scab is of little consequence here, but as a troll, he is poison, and should not be encouraged, let alone defended under the guise of free speech.

Was there an emergency landing? The flight landed 10 min early at the airport it was sked to go to. Anyone know if anything happened?

They smelled smoke in the cockpit. Passengers herded into terminal while mechs inspected.

I have family in Dublin, and he says nothing in the paper, just a little bit on Ireland On Line, saying the same thing.
I would guess that it was a typical "unable to duplicate" smoke incident. I am always apprehensive about those when we are unable to confirm or find anything wrong. Those are scary things to sign off.

I heard it was something burning in an oven that was causing the smoke. As for the other "emergency" landing on flight 1581, haven't heard anything at all on the cause.

Yep there was an "alleged" smokey bun warmer. The crew were just about over DUB so they landed immediately. Also helpful was that the cabin crew decided to open a few PBE's. It was written up as a slight haze! ah well i suppose they'll be dining out on that one for a while!!
DOH! I hate when that happens! I guess they shouldn't have left that tote bag in the oven and not told the other crewmembers it was there. :down:
