No Response!

Just silence.

"You could hear a pin drop"
They can lie and spin for ever about other airlines and other unions with ease, especially since most members will not spend any time researching what they are told, but.......
It is impossible for them to defend the twu’s performance to their own members.
The members will not buy any lies on that.
The members do not have to research the truth on twu's performance.
They live it every day. They feel it every day.
In their checkbook.
Yea but there is nothing like a little evidence to back up what you feel in your gut and what you see in your checkbook. A typical response would be that "you are living beyond your means" or as Sue Oliver said we "have unrealistic expectatations". Why is it unrealistic for an aircraft mechanic, who according to the ATA is at least 30% more productive to expect to get the same buying power that he had in the early eighties? Why should he be conent with earning less, especially when he produces more?
I am in total agreement.

Unfortunately our Union feels that sacrificing wages is OK as long as it produces more dues. If we were to graph the number of AA/TWU dues payers it would look like our pay graph turned upside down-less the AMFA spike.

How come the TWU does not want to come and respond in defense of their handiwork?

Bob, I am going to try and respond for the twu because they will not. That chart has been tampered with (that line was not attached to the dots) and if you don't remove it we will sue you in court. How's that!!! lol

It is truly a shame what our Craft and Class has had to endure for the last twenty years with the never ending erosion or our pay and benefits. That chart doesn't even come close to the downward spiral if you were to include our lost benefits, work rules and the advent of B and C scales. The time is now for change as we may never have an opportunity like this again in our lifetime to what is good and right for our profession!!! We should be able to say to our sons and daughters that this profession is a great one and we should be able to say it with a straight face and pride!!!

Do you suppose that CIO didnt see this one yet? Maybe he keeps missing it. I'll just keep bringing it up. Maybe you should run off copies of the graph and give them to your coworkers. Tell them that its a summary of their career with the TWU. It has the past, the present and the forseeable future. And its all down, with the exception of the AMFA spike of 2002/3.

It seems that whenever the TWU is presented with a potentially embarrasing questions they pull the equivilent of Koziateks "I have to use the restroom" move and slip out the back.

This is the type of accountability that we have come to expect from the TWU.

Thats why we need to get AMFA.

In three years time, when AA is making record profits you will hear the same thing they said during the late 90s as we were saddled with a six year concessionary contract while the company made record profits. "You guys voted for it dont blame us", or "Your Presidents council voted for it so dont blame us, blame them". Or if Little is as sick as claimed then the will blame it all on him. If that doesnt work they will say its because "the members did not participate".

What is the $$$ figure we currently will owe amfa national if amfa is brought in as bargaining agent at AA?

Is that your answer? What does it haveto do with our pay vs CPI?

Still no debate here. I guess the TWU admits that they have done a lousy job over the last twenty years.

It's a different story when it comes to the TWU international Officers. Here is a four (4) year period from 1998 to 2002. The International officers are not sharing in the sacrifice and as a matter of fact are getting huge pay raises at our expense.

Sonny Hall up 31,680
McCann F up 33,942
Kerrigan J up 33,942
Bakalo M up 25,398
Jim Little up 69,190
Martin L up 34,749
Czuczman up 24,525

The TWU Constitution states in Article V section 10.

The International President shall perform all such duties as pertain to his/her office. He/she shall receive Seventy-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars (72,500) per annum, payable weekly in equal amounts, and when performing duties away from the International Office he/she shall receive his/her expenses, which shall be subject to the approval of the International Executive Council.
The salary of the International President shall be adjusted as of the first day of January and on the first day of each January by the weighted average percentage increase in wages or salaries received by the Union membership during the first year ending on the proceeding August 31st in bargaining units of Five Hundred (500) OR more.

During the 19 year period the TWU presidents pay went from 72,500 to 200,988

The membership cannot recall any of these officers nor any officer in the TWU for that matter. Where is the accountability???? Why would they care what anybody makes in our Craft and Class??? Where is the incentive for better benefits and higher wages??? The one thing that section of the constitution does promote is growing the TWU so that International Officers get pay raises.

Lower wages and benefits allow the company to grow and the TWU to grow thus raising the pay of International Officers. WHAT IS TWU OFFICERS DO NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT UNIONISM!!! Is unionism about International Officers self-interests!!!

The graph of Sonny's pay does not look like ours does it?, Ok, I'll be fair that it's not adjusted for inlation like ours but $200,000! Wow! I have to wonder how much he gets from all the Insurance he sells. Probably dwarfs the $200,000. Hell some of his subordinates make more than that.

Still no replies from the TWU. Why is that? Do you suppose they dont look at this thread anymore?

They still avoid this issue like it is a disease.

I think we now know our number one campaign issue.

This thread has been going on for some time now! It's interesting that amfa chooses not to show all of the report! Half-truths is typical!!! Please show us the entire packet.
