What's new

Airbus Sale?

Eric,

You'd probably know, or at least have an idea. My understanding is that the returns due to lease expirations on the West side are being offset by new deliveries, though I have heard that the fleet on your side might be one or two less than contained in the fleet forecast attached to the transition agreement.

Can you shed any light on the West situation?

Jim

It is pretty much a wash when with all the new deliveries. We are taking delivery of 3 new A319s and I believe 2 A320s before the new year and giving up older Airbus A320s and Boeing 737s.

we've had a airbus sitting at the hanger all week getting ready to leave a/c 671 I believe its all painted out the a/c is only a few years old but I think its a high lease, I think this was the 2nd airbus and I think 1 737-300 has left. sence the merger.

A320...I thought it was 670...

That's be 671AW I presume - 671UW is an A330. The fleet plan had 671AW leaving in Oct.

Jim

heyray (and anyone else interested),

Here's the link to the transition agreement filed with the BK court. The fleet plan is about 2/3 of the way down and is broken down by US (old) fleet and HP fleet. It's dated Aug 31, and returns after that have anticipated dates.

I just assumed "671" was our A320 N671AW. Must be careful assuming tail numbers. Will have to be very specific in the future.

Just goes to show how perspectives differ - I assumed one of the East birds until I saw it was a 330 on our list. I should have known different - just the CLT hanger ramp has had several planes with the name painted out sitting there when I've been working for the last couple or three months. Sorta looks like "Uncle Brucie's Used Airplane Lot"......

Jim

now under the IBT/AWA mech contract they outsource......ok under that contract.
so we reduce the U fleet downward.......under IAM/U contract.....inhouse and all.....it goes away.
expand AWA with new arrivals and all.....
still we operate as two separate entities.....two union contracts......
tell me now how we kill the inhouse bus checks legally??
and vendor it out without any sticky legal thingy?? 😉
the dude says duh???
suddenly a union runoff vote matters???
the dude says double duh.....
end around...end around....

Jim,

I think the AW indicates an HP 320. Was it really in the plan to return a 330???? If so another dumb move by previous mismanagement. They need to hold onto every widebody they can at this point.

My best to you all...

PITMTC -

When they change the retired A/C from EOW to NON-EOW, do they pull the dual HF radios out?

671AW, an and 672AW are leaving ...unfavorable leases. 907AW(b757-225) is leaving in March

First time poster long time reader lol...

Was told in recurrent last week that we are losing a total of 15 airframes. Mix of 10 A319/320 being delivered for a net loss of 5 airframes. Unfortunately not all of the A1 powered 320's are leaving, 671 and 672 are going back to GE.

Aibus won't change the paint specs on the new A/C without $$$ so as soon as they arrive they are going straight to the paint shop. Starting in Dec should be 5 lines of A/C in the paint shop, don't know where. This could all change next week though.

Sounds like everyone is working together well on flight ops integration.

Hope we can pull this off!
