Same here! A US/NWA combination would make more sense on many fronts AND the Star Alliance would have the US-Asia markets all locked up. This could be the master plan afterall. If UA decided to make a run for Delta and US-NWA hookup, there would be some serious pissing and moaning coming out of Dallas. 😛GOOD I would rather merge with Northwest.

Me too, but I think Parker is looking to a much more transformed system of legacy carriers that may not be recognizable as the hub and spoke carriers. Also, NW and US have the least powerful domestic hub locations of the big six. Again, I agree with you when looking at the traditional 'look' of hubbing carriers. Also, I think that Parker's bid for Delta also puts a floor under the operating margin of any new Delta reorg, supporting the possibility of Delta being smaller than it might otherwise have been.
