ALL EAST PILOTS.....

They use their officers and reps who are paid full time, like every other union.

As does the IAM, and other unions use grass roots members.

Funny I was on the UA organizing and other campaigns and I was not a paid organizer.

AMFA has no paid organizers. AMFA has won certification elections for mechanics and related classifications at several airlines and currently represents them in contract negotiations, grievances, and other cooperative programs.

AMFA has won certification elections for mechanics and related classifications primarily through grassroots campaigns started and run by volunteer organizers from within the airline.
You forgot:

Don't let facts get in your way.

B**L S**T!!!

Pure and simple.

You are clueless about the process. Like many other things that you naive westies have no knowledge of, we have been there before.

...and so did the Westies, ####. They tried a de-cert drive several years ago,I believe for in house represntation,if my sources are correct. Only 45% returned cards requesting a change in union representation. It failed miserably. You Easties elevate making yourself look like fools to an artform

The IBT does not represent the most workers in the Airlines.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) represents more than 1.4 million active members employed in a wide range of industries in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. The IBT negotiated the freight industry's first national agreement in 1964 and began its efforts to unionize the airline industry in 1966 with employees of Western Airlines.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is the only union that represents every craft of workers in the airline industry. The Railway Labor Act requires that airline employees be organized on a system-wide basis for the purpose of collective bargaining.

Teamsters representation of airline industry workers has grown steadily over the years. IBT contracts now cover 43,000 airline industry workers, including mechanics, customer service and ramp agents, stock clerks, dispatch personnel, flight attendants, and pilots. In its nearly 42 years in the industry, the IBT has negotiated top quality contracts. The superior wages and benefits in IBT agreements make Teamsters airline jobs the most sought after in the industry.

They'll take you down with them. Don't you get this? This is the real deal you have 3100 really pissed off pilots that will vote in the majority --they will decide your fate as well. You need to contact your LEC and ask how this is going to happen. It's a process and it's legal. This is what happens when you steal people's senority.

The problem being that 57% of them have historically shown no backbone. That's the reason why what you describe simply won't happen.

That's true. What percentage are either in the 517 fence or expect to be in the 517 before they retire? It's got to be 30-40% of the active list, right?

I'm in the 517. And I will vote for Teamsters over ALPA in a New York second. Everybody in the 517 has been royally screwed by ALPA over the past years. It won't be difficult to get most of them to send in a ballot. And, even though I am not affected directly by the Nicolau shame, I am outraged over this "award."

Clue,
From what I am being told, it seems skelator has finally arrived. People were angry about the pension, but this senority integration has basically caused some people's heads to explode. I guess everyone will find out sooner rather than later. From my estimates, this process (new union, contract, resolution) will take several years.
