American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I personally doubt we would strike as the trump administration would more than likely block any strike due to the strains on the economy. But i think its possible we would take a strike vote.

I for one have been absent from this board for many years. Being rude isn’t helpful in explaining things

in a nutshell....iam has a leader that is anti labor and elitist. He serves on a board at another airline, and has agreed to unlimited part time for ramp. Possible motivation for such an agreement. 1 union dues 2. to help with actuarial tables on their iampf.

Why this is important. 1. twu is forced to support the iampf possibly. 2. twu pickets and screams about scope. 3. iam screams about iampf and medical. 4. Iam hasn't done jack **** and hasn't been interested in getting a contract, they are happy with what they have.

iam pays their worthless local presidents 200,000 dollars and an exorbitant guaranteed pension. one prominent poster on this board probably wants in on it, and leaves out that detail, and purportedly has been guaranteed something.

Iam recently started formalizing picketing, then shockingly the iam announces problems with the pension.

the company with a union buster negotiator that is independent from the company, because executives at aa don't want to look like the bad guys, is taking advantage of this (ass) they would like to contract as mcuh work as possible (scope). thank you iampf, and Richard Trumka.

Hypothetical question: If the company sweetened their current offer with a million dollar signing bonus for every employee, but with the complete understanding that once this current work force retires they will be zero in house jobs, would your union let you vote on that?

Would the union get a cut?

So the offer is $1,000,000 to sell out your integrity?

You probably would sell yours for $5.00 and a Gas Station Hot Dog.

Why is protecting the union related in anyway to your integrity?

Just trying to point out they don't care about you anymore than the company does. Only themselves. Which is a completely normal thing. But they hoodwink workers into acting against their own interest for the fictitious "greater good"? Freedom and capitalism only work best when everyone is always pursuing their own best self interest,

Your right, lets put this chit to a vote

Yes as i said both sides are stretching the truth. The union is making it sound like once this contract is signed AA wont ever hire another AMT or fleet clerk..
It's all about the union dues. And ultimately survival.

The first step is the company needs to put out a full text proposal for the membership. The next step is pressuring the association to let the membership vote on it.
I don't care what big mouth videos are put out nor do I care what Jimmy Hoffa wannabe Samuelsen says about never putting his signature on a p.o.s. contract.
Let the membership decide. TRUST THE MEMBERSHIP!

The first step is the Company needs to put out a full text proposal on the outstanding issues for the TWU and IAM Members to look at.

Second step should be the Association’s response to that proposal and perhaps sharing in writing exactly what they are asking the Company for today. (Our current position)

From there we see what the position is of the NMB and whether or not they recommend a PEB.

If a PEB is enacted we accept their proposals and vote on that with the recommendations of the Association.

Man you really hate the Unions don’t you. It’s your words I pick up on Metal. Your own words.

And I have to “think” that newest wage offer has to (understandably) have you frustrated?

Can’t say $1.16 has me ready to Bungee Jump off a Bridge.
