American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

The wage scales the Company posted for Fleet are based off of Delta + 3% and Delta is currently below where UAL is right now.

I know that the Association wants a yearly look back to keep us above whoever out there is at the top of the industry.

Personally I would agree to not even consider Delta in that equation because Delta has no contract agreements.
Give me 3% over ual's December wage plus 2.5% anually for 5 years and id be okay with the wages

I have to suspect the Company really believed that their proposals would shine with us if they released them publicly and we would put pressure on our Negotiators to get it to us to vote on.

What they don’t understand is the fact that we do have some intelligent people out there that can break it down and see all the individual areas that they’re looking to shortchange us and hope to pass ambiguous language.

I’m looking forward to reading the point by point breakdown and counterproposals being released from the Association.

As I know you’re aware of the Scope but focus much on the economics I think you’ll find their wage proposals fairly reasonable and the 401K ask as we know is a straight contribution with no match needed.

The one philosophy I do recognize in a match though particularly for the younger set is how entices them to become active to learning to save themselves for their future. But I don’t think it should be tied to having to reach over 5% before the match kicks in.

I personally could support the Match portion if it was not tied to a Member having to put in a full 9% themselves to capitalize on it.

The 4% Match should be separate from the 5% Contribution and then pretty much we could talk all new hires into putting that into their retirement savings.
I do look forward to seeing a side by side intelligently and rationally laid out comparison of both positions

Based on the Association history I don't believe they will let you guys get money, vs future headcount and dues money for them. So it comes down do you protect everyone there now through the life of a new contract, only through attrition or buyout, or stay the status quo?

i'd be content if the company came back with 3% more than ua (.94 cents more than $31.23/hr to $32.17/hr on DOS), along with 2.5% a year for the duration.

then they can increase the profit sharing formula for their true team partners, the pilots and F/As.

they can't have it all...scope/wages/profit sharing.

considering the profit sharing formula, the company wanting to gain on scope, c/c language and winning on insurance..the wages/benefits are woefully inadequate.

again, i ask...where is the sweetener for laa fsc?? all the AMTs got a late wage sweetener and lus ramp will get a $3k payment and 1 yr. extension on their insurance, sweetener??

ok, so what about you and me?

Ok if you listened all the way through the Podcast you would hear that this a work in progress that needs to be put together and the Association (People) are still reading through what the Company released on Friday and disseminating it all.

Of note though is in particular with this brief is that they will be releasing much more information as to what our positions currently are next week. Some was discussed in the Podcast including Scope (Stronger language) Medical costs including an ask for a Retiree Medical formula that currently only AA seems to have no interest in against the rest of the industry. And an ask on the 401K to be a full 10% Contribution and the Company paying the “Withdrawal Liability Fee” to drop out of the IAMNPF.
