You feel Tim is better informed on how the negotiating committee is going to react than actual negotiating committee?????????
Next Im going to ask Tim your inner most feelings and what ever he says goes

Why this defensive posture by the NC? Why the f@@k would we have to give up lavs, why?If we go to section 6 are we going to throw the same NC in there.?Seems like a waste of time to me

It's in our contract now! "When and where directed." We don't own it! Company wants to keep it that way. We are trying to protect where we currently do lavs.

In your opinion.

Either way the Members should have had a say through a vote and the fact that they were denied that prior to the formation of the Association will always be a cause of animosity and mistrust.

There is no escaping that fact.
Weez I think Im going to start drinking beer and hang on here

Is that how its worded in the TWU contract too?

this blog is very informative. to me, it's spring-loaded towards lus/iam fleet being more in the know than laa/twu fleet, just due to guys like prez & charlie brown and even racer x and piedmont along with tim nelson posting about combined issues, but mostly iam issues.

from laa side, like him or not, i think weaasles talks about laa/twu issues and NYer's posts have to be read. i didn't even know he was mia local president, now he's on the actual negotiating committee? if so, i think we'll get direct answers to most questions in record time, but i believe he will tighten up a bit about some queries.

an example is weaasles told me on this blog that aa's scope language could mean lavs contracted out. i spoke with someone with 30 years, does lavs and she confidently told me that there is no way the company can contract out lavs, due to maintenance can't work with 3rd parties on lav issues..etc.

i told her that maybe the company will change that in the AMT contract and then they will be able to contract out lavs...

...so, she does lavs and she didn't know or hear from other lav drivers that they might be in danger of losing their gigs.

this is the twu.
I've actually learned to appreciate NYer. He just tells it like it is. Facts. He doesn't seem to be a Pollyanna either. And I've used him as a resource since he is a wealth of information.
An independent person who serves his members well. And he is cool and calm as Weezles hammers him every day but NYer keeps his cool and wits about him even among unnecessary weezle rants.

That said, I'm sure that me and NYer most likely disagree on more things than we would agree on, because of our different perspectives. Not that it matters since neither of us are Association members.

So shouldnt you take the TWU posture "we are not giving it up it survived our bankruptcy it should survive billions in profits" when you said I wouldnt bet the farm it didn't sound like someone taking an aggressive stance

Well the answer will be more interesting coming from Tim... It's lonely being a TN troll
Yes it is. The truth offends people.

Obviously, having a United Airline Board Director being our Chief Negotiator needs to be done away with. He bagged a compensation of $43,000 as a board member last year and has a sworn allegiance to that board seat at United. I can't imagine American spilling financial information to him, thereby limiting discussions.

At any rate, I was kind of taken back tonight when CB said they are going on feelings. I wish these guys would stick to science and math instead of winging it with feelings.

And I don't believe that the company is going to wait around till they count the ballots, presumably in late may for Sito's election. I think there is an established timetable now and I think the possibility of an offer from the company being directly negotiated with the members by a vote could happen prior to section 6. I hope not because, oh boy we are sunk then.

CB and Rez are probably good guys but I dont think they are being honest it sounds like they are reading from the negotiating committee handbook.Tim you and everyone at this site know what really goes on and I think they are stringing us along and its kind of insulting

Probably a 7th day double, so what
I'm off today but I do doubles a few times a week. It's summer time, I took 3 weeks off in June and I'll take another few weeks off in July, and again in August. May start hording in the shift swaps in September. Overtime is empty now here so I slowed down a bit more than I wanted to.

I don't think Prez strings us along. Prez is a nice guy. CB blows smoke. Period.. I used to think that CB was a good guy but he is a snake in the grass. He speaks out of his butt.

I don't ever have to worry about Prez violating the rights of members or flipping out.

So you think they will stand their ground regarding the T'A or do what Sito tells them?

Just protecting what hes got,dog eat dog wonder if it were voluntary position instead of pay if there would be a different approach.Of course you would have to hire professional negotiators to be with them

One thing I know. They will NOT stand their ground. They never have. Not that it matters because they aren't even members of the Association and have no powers or voices. My concern is Sito. While we can be certain that he won't sign a TA, tossing away our current health care, until the ballots are counted in late May, he may allow the company proposal to bypass the negotiation committee and go right to the members for a vote. Sito prolly has to check with his handlers at United's Board Office first though.
