im disappointed in the highlight sheet as well but we ought to be able to see the offer or see it and vote, prior to being asked to go 4 years.
You know we gave up our leverage with Cross U. The offer will not get better and if the economy cools we will have to give something up.

But NYer and some TWU peeps were uncomfortable with their names on updates that were fake. At any rate, its fair and reasonable to sign names. The company is more professional than the executive team. As a matter of style, it builds accountability and trust. You do a decent job at that with your email list. People know its you because you sign it. The executive negotiating team ought to follow.

And I think your agenda to stand in line keeps you from freely answering some otherwise reasonable questions about the pension.

The association blew its load with cross utilization so any TA will be reflective of zero leverage. In fact, the company has it made if they just keep your bankrupt contract. Giving up cross utilization cost us a jcba.

The union narrative will have to be self help. That bs will work but eventually they will have to bring out a jcba that will be worse than what was offered outside section 6. There is a reason why the company felt good about filing.

I think it was a way for IAM to keep their dues but if backfired in their face. The TWU got burned badly the IAM got a little soot on their cheek.Bet they never thought negotiations would be so difficult.Makes you wonder if the company didn't have to match the Delta increase would they still we be going after all this other stuff?

You cringe because his own words convict him and reveal his real agenda. First, it's not possible to represent the interests of laa and lus at the same time. Therefore if one claims to be in this ASS but in the same breath says on behalf of the IGMers what he's really saying is that he doesn't represent LAA. Which btw is the truth, he doesn't. If this ASS was for real, a rep would say "hmmm, I know im not going to get everything on my wishlist so what can I get that the MAJORITY of the members of the ASS would like?" If these ASS wipes focused on the MAJORITY, regardless of if they're laa or lus we would have a contract. The problem with that approach is that many of these lifetime slugs, ie perez, cb would finally get their asses thrown out of office, and they can't have none of that. We all know their primary and secondary agenda is to stay in office as long as possible, not what's good for the majority. Anything else is a damn lie!

Look, i think my questions are very reasonable and I think what I suggested is what ought to happen.
I read the association update yesterday and they announce their exit strategy out of this miserable debacle by saying "self help". The union has no right to self help so that is a fake exit door. I posted the letter from Gottleib confirming that the iam recognizes it wont be released. Self help only comes after a release.
That being said, there is illegal self help. Illegal self help is how Labor always advanced, ie., wildcat strikes and other fun things that working people love to unify over. Would illegal self helps build unity and also increase leverage? Um, well..yes it would.
However, such actions mean sacrifice. The company would immediately move to injunct and the union would almost certainly have to pick up the tab like the American pilots did. And the company would also move to eliminate the 2,000 when and where directed jobs.

But the unions dont sacrifice and the iam is a corporate union that would never sacrifice, so self help (legal or illegal) will never be an option, sir.

You lose. You have no option but to put out a last best contract offer. You can deny this for a few years, but the last offer will certainly come out. God forbid you guys are right and Trump screws up the economy. With a crappy economy, you just lost half the crap on the table and we will go from $3,000 bonus and $33 to how much of a pay cut do we have to take. Never mind the small stations. We know who hubs subsidizes when the going gets tough.
