I only joined the forum in 2017. I am not crazy about AMFA, but it's what we have. I am glad we finally got something to vote on. Swampy is their cheerleader not me, you can see that from my post from arguing with him, or crowsfoot, or Hackman. I get on the American board to see what is going on, and support you in hoping you guys get a contract. I think you guys should go with whatever union will get you a deal, and it doesn't have to be AMFA.

Actually, the collective IS pulling itself not only UP-- but TOGETHER!. All OUTSIDE of this forum, that is filled with a handful whom knows who! We do know several elements here aren't even union members, they could be managment... they could be the same person...

Stop selling this forum as some secret sanctuary where all members go to strategize -- because they DON"T...

In the end the American AMTs and Ramp, want to just get a fair contract, and that should be the focus. If you know the pension will be frozen and everyone will end up with American's health care plan, then you should have your union focus on what you can win. Better pay, more hoildays, your overtime rules restored. A 401K match like SWA 9.3% or higher. And use the pension and health care like you're fighting for it, in exchange to protect as much scope as you can or maybe gain something in scope.

They are hoping you will want to be part of the pension fund, because if they got the TWU into the IAM pension, it would put more money into the fund. They have to get more people into the fund to sustain it.

Thats not true. Everyone BUT those on the union dime or union take, want a fair contract.

Every normal person knows that the iam pension is unsustainable and rapidly drying up. Another half BILLION last year alone.
But those loyalists along with Sito are making the iam pension the holy grail dealbreaker, to the point of postponing all future talks. TWU boss Alex Garcia wets his pants when Sito walks by so he has taken a beta submissive position. Me thinks Alex got offefed something in what could b a twu/iam merger according to strong rumors.
Whatever the case, even though we are talking about complete morons and madness, i managed to cuff Sito until what appears to be April 2019. The only wildcard was Alex, but he is no longer a threat as he took the altar boy route.

im not a 401k loyalist as the fees skim some of the massive increases. But my 401k is mine and i dont have to worry about it being depleted next year so some retired Eastern airline guy can keep his iam pension till he is 90.
