You shouldn't have >MONT<, I'm a 1978 grad and that was a Hot (no pun intended) song back in the day.
I tried to muster the decency to give you a medal for that one, but I just couldn't do it, >SPITTER<
But thanks for the memories!!

No, what I meant was we have a baseline on what AA is offering number wise to the 401k without the IAM pension being included. If AA agrees to continue the IAM pension and their number offered for the 401k goes below their original offer because of the IAM pension, that is a non starter for me. The IAM pension does nothing at all for me so why would I settle on a lower 401k offer because of it.
The original offer of 3% base and up to 6% match? Don’t forget...that was in lieu of a pension contribution..
Then pension contribution right now is approx 5%-5.5%.
If the offer is 9% in retirement....
There could be an offer that is 9% Total contribution to one or the other OR a combination of both. ( although at this point it looks bleak for the pension....but you never know).

BTW the Association still hasn’t heard from the Company yet since the Johnson meeting.
Actually, more correctly, not since Sito put out his first love letter blasting Johnson and claiming the IAM Pension is the "Holy Grail" Deal breaker. Not sure why the company would want to waste time talking to a whole lot of stupid. Alex' submitting to sito is fine regarding our health care but he can't continue being a pushover on our IAM pension. At some point him, you and your handlers, need to stop plugging up our talks due to the IAM Pension meltdown.

The current proposed 401K numbers, if taken to the max of the 9% contribution, would probably mean a higher contribution for the IAM pension as well or possibly a combination of the IAM Pension contribution and a smaller 401K contribution that would be equal to the straight 9% for the TWU side. Obviously, this is speculative from an IAM outsider perspective.

Couldn’t care less about your IAMPF problems. Not my concern.

driver you need to watch this thread a little more if you’re going to continue to participate. That guy writes that story every single day but doesn’t share one shred of proof of his off the wall accusations.

And changing out your underwear isn’t going to change Jack chit. Did it really do anything for you guys over there? It took you guys 5 and half years just to keep your SCOPE static with no growth.
Don't get me wrong Weazz, I am not promoting AMFA for American AMTs, most hate the association and want out of it. If you guys trust the TWU more, then force an election and see which union survived. At least everyone would be on the same page.

What makes you believe everyone would be on the same page if there was an election?

It would probably be the opposite.

driver if you don’t actually work for AA and walk around one of our fields how can you make the claim that most hate the Association and want out of it?

Honestly I think “most” employees come in to work, do what they have to do, and go home to their families or big screens.

I know that you’re not promoting any particular group but again for the 1000th time the conversation of representation change at AA is assinine and wasted bandwidth.

If it didn’t happen when we had massive cuts to pay and benefits it’s NOT going to happen after we all got huge raises in 2016.

No despite the loudmouths you read here on Forums (Between Half a Dozen to a Dozen) most people I run into (Real people) are pretty content.

Robbed, somewhere inthe middle cost us thousands of jobs if we recognize twu scope and improve it to only half of ours. The TWU supported us to gain scope in a stand alone so it could springboard pass it with a jcba. At worst, take the best of both regarding scope. In that sense its not cost positive but keeps what we have.
Actually, im all for cost neutral regarding scope and health care but we need cost positve territory for retirement, days off, overtime, grievance procedure.

Tim when u say cost neutral for health wouldnt that be somewhere between LAA and LUS? As for PS id like to see FSA/MR get same as pilots. As for 401K vs pension i think there should be options as the Assoc is advocating for. Wage increases. benefits enhanced .scope enhanced. Bit in no way should the employees get a subpar or even give up anything in the deal. As for days off are u referring to if u work 1st day time half first 4 hrs. Double time after that? Thats whats there now.

The IAM isn't an airline mechanic union anymore. I think the last 15 mechanic groups voted the IAM out and the only one left is LUS. The TWU would win that election hands down.

I have no problem if they allow us to have a choice in the pension. The smart ones will opt out and the very dumb ones who don't understand it is toast will stay in and allow them to gobble up money quicker than a Seymour feeding.

The match offer right now is below the base.
5% base
Up to 4% match
Is this what you are referring to?

I was told it went like this -------Company matches to 4% and at the end of the year the company would give us 5% of our Gross Pay.
Has anyone heard this?

It seems I have it wrong but is it a true 9%?

Is it possible to have a card drive splitting the Association, TWU vs. IAM?
