Had zero to do with the Unions you hate so much. It has to do again with freakin common sense which very few of the posters left on here have any.

W, "promise" can be said without using the word itself. "We will", "We won't", "it isn't" (gonna happen)...etc. Those are spoken as absolutes and a promise is an absolute. We will bring you nothing short of a ILC is the same as a "promise". The Association has said these things many times (yes both the IAM and TWU) and I as a member shouldn't/ doesn't need them to say I promise at the end. If they tell be they will, I'm taken that as a promise.
If that isn't the case, then maybe it should state "We are going to fight to bring our members an ILC..or we are gonna do our best to maintain the LUS Healthcare.

There are so many moving parts to this that often some of the pieces are trivialized.

Most should read the actual language before they made a decision but that isn't always the case as many just look at the shiny object in front of them. Knowing this is the case, there should be more time and effort put into informing and educating the members as to all the moving parts. We have two unions with each bringing their priorities and their own culture.

Can you remember any communication or effort taken to discuss those differences in an attempt to understand the other side? Not really.

As it stands, there was a lot of work done to make it seem we were closer to a deal than we were and some of us brought out that fact. When we did, it didn't cause an intellectual discussion; it just brought out partisan attacks. If we had discussed all the possibilities of what we could face maybe we could have also considered what to do when or if each action presented itself.

Instead, we ignored what others had to say because it didn't seem possible or because others with a title had a different opinion making the rest of us subject to ridicule and name-calling by those that support the title rather than the information.

In the meantime, we ignore the different point of view as we are inundated with positions that are supposed to fit everyone, and if we don't agree with the fit, then there must be something wrong with us. Shouldn't be that way.

For the majority to get the best possible deal, we need to listen to all sides and all points of view because if we don't the alienated group becomes much more significant than any other and they have the power to grab the shiny object just the get it over with.
