American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Here is part of the problem.... Think of this senario (Which happened before) Fleet Service likes the company's offer and they are going to vote yes but before they do that they load up with the "Me Too" language just in case AMTs vote no. They vote yes and we vote no and we can't get any improvements because of the "Me Too" all over the Fleet contract. There are different issues for the work groups. AMTs value their paid time off. Fleet might value something else. The point is if one group is willing to sacrifice something they value less for something they value more then the other groups cannot get what they value more. And....... We have Fleet Service guys running AMT negotiations. I want Fleet to get what they want but I want my contract to bring what I want too. If you guys want to trade vacation for money then go ahead but I should be allowed to give up the 80 cents per hour to keep my week of vacation. In 2012 we were hosed out of another week of vacation because Fleet had given theirs up. Have you noticed Fleet doesn't have "Me Too" for Stores contract? They kept their 6th week of vacation. We need to have true separate negotiations and get what is important for our groups.
lus fleet has Zero lus fleet in the executive negotiations. sito is a retired twa auto mechanic, tom reavon is a lav dumper who hasnt touched a plane in 25 years.

Sito will refuse any vote. Period. same with mx...he will not allow a vote until next april since he already agreed to the concessionary health and other items.

So much for a democracy things could get really heated

The "me too" only pertained to the percantage in value that needed to be cut from the CBA's, which started at 20% and because of the merger went down to 17%.

Due to that language, Fleet was able to regain some lost value as did Maintenance and all other unionized groups.

Not talking about IAM negotiators. I'm talking about TWU negotiators. Fleet Service Clerks are in charge of AMT negotiations for TWU.

Nothing can be brought back for ratification without the maintenance negotiating committee approving it.

Oh, I have a feeling someone will stop by and let you know how "weez" feels.
I have had him on ignore for a long time so I don't care what he thinks. I do care what you think but I think we both know you are union through and through. But honestly I would not want to negotiate for Fleet not knowing what is important to them. I wish the TWU would realize that and get AMTs on staff to represent AMTs. Peterson's appointment recently doesn't fix the problem. We need more AMTs so there are no Fleet Service involved in our negotiations. Too much can get lost in translation. But you and I have had this conversation before. You are a good man and you know I have the highest respect for you. So if you disagree you know I will respect that.

Yeah we gained 17.5% pay reduction, loss of longevity and sick pay. There was only loss and no gain. You lost none of the other stuff.

You know I agree Oldguy, but if I would have had a different opinion yes, you would have respected it and vice versa.
Some people just can't do that. Think their way or you ARE the enemy.
