American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

What do we pay dues for?
For the union to show us the money and beneifts. Where is Jerry McQuire when we need him?

I don't think the National Right to Work will be successful nationally, but it would seem that the unions don't have many in its corner. Certainly, not its own members who have been cornholed and pilfriged (sp?) by the union, and talked down to by its retards and Pollyanna's like 700 and weez. 700 is always on the take and was shown the door back in the 90s to avoid being cuffed from what I heard. Weez bit hard on Lehive's advancements about the FLL JetBlue gig.

At the end of the day, our union has stolen from us and not done a damn thing. That's a fact. We will eventually most likely end up like United, stripped behind Delta which will lead the industry. I can't even get a lousy shift differ back after 4 rounds of post bankruptcy contracts but my union dues go up every year.

Tim how does the negotiating committee react to the proposal being put out and them being bypassed?

The committee is really a non factor in anything. I know weez claims that the negotiating committee will make authoritative decisions but such babble is baseless. The problem is that they aren't even members of the Association. Under Labor Law, only the Collective Bargaining Agent is duty bound so it is a zero chance that any negotiating committee is anything more than just a fake group. Don't get me wrong, they serve as tabloid journalist for when Sito comes out of the room. He tells them the narrative he wants them to know. This week was off limits for the negotiation team and also the next round as the company is meeting secretly with Sito over framing out any non TA that gets presented to the members (according to Fly). Sito has a touch of bi polar in him so I'm not sure if he is just playing the company or if he will allow the risk of 5 TWU stations and half of PHL to go. These are the things we just don't know. But the negotiating committee hasn't negotiated one one single time and DON"T negotiate under IAM rules. When I was in office, the negotiation committee always stayed in the kitchen during the United talks. The United talks negotiated at District headquarters. The only ones who went in the room were 5 or 6 management personnel and Delaney and Ira Levy (Grand Lodge). Nobody else ever had a clue or knew anything about negotiations although they did have roundtable fantasy football leagues. I'm SERIOUSLY not joking.

The deal was that as long as they Pollyanna their way, they could be the next AGC's.

a few days ago, the iam part of the assoc. spent a few sentences telling me that the company 'supposed'. those were company 'supposals', in jetnet.

the twu part of the assoc. tells me the company's jetnet videos, e-mail, music, lighting...are all 'proposals'.

let's work together just to get the terminology correct, before we confront the company.

is this 'ground to cockpit?; or 'ground to flightdeck'? i haven't head-setted a plane since 1991.

That's a bigger problem than you can imagine.

No one is in sync.

The Negotiating Committee is in name only. All the meetings are either with the Director and Vice-Director or the Executive Committee.

Another fun loving fact about the Association.

My gut tells me (or maybe it's Tim) that something is in the works between AA and the Executive Committee. Not gonna venture a guess, not gonna do it, but something is coming down the pike.
IMO

Well you’re the one who convinced me that the endeavor was the best option.

Do you still feel the same way, lol.

Now that was funny

The Association is a better option than having endless card drives and two sides going at each other's throats for the next few years.

Unfortunately, the entire thing has been poorly handled from almost the very beginning.
