American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Everyone should love different perspectives and having individuals available to offer those different perspectives irregardless if we always agree with them or not.

But there’s one thing to offering perspectives and another to just reciting the same comments they’ve said before ad nauseam.

And the constant Cheerleading does get to be a little green in the toilet bowl after awhile too don’t you think?
No!

My thought is AA will not back off LAA Healthcare for all. From P. Rez and CB comments, the Association NC will not back off either. The question is (and I say no) does the Executive Committee ignore the NC and permit a vote with LUS Healthcare in the contract.
Bottom line in my opinion, there will be no vote, section 6 it is and LUS Healthcare for all.
The answer would probably be no. The reason being the way the assocition guidelines are written a.
A marority of the negotiation comittee
AND
the chair and vice chair must agree to bring a ta to the membership vote.

I normally dont post here, because quite frankly you have a few that dominate the board and twist and or attack all differing opnions.

With that being said we will probably go into mediation in September.
A meditator will probably be assigned by December
Bu the time the mediator becomes familiar with the positions he will be ready to meet in an april to may timeline
As you stated since the company and the iam will not budge by September of 2019 the meditator will probably suggest a vote to gauge the memberships position.

What we will vote in will probably look a lot like what we have on the table now

The basis for medical will be the pilots,fa's and everyine else has it

The iam will keep their pension

They will loose catering

But most importantly the iam will save face and retain their membership.

Unless of course we dissolve the association.

To compound the problem, my understanding is that our newest international rep's phone calls are not being answered at centerport.

Another fleet presidents mtg about contract talks with no representation from the NY TWU local. They talk the talk but never show. Bet they make more vote no videos when this is done.Call them the Janus Local.

I hear rumor that Victor dominates the weekly Presidents conference calls with a healthy dose of constant outrage about whatever pops into his mind but you’re right he doesn’t leave NYC to attend any TWU Meetings or events.

He’s a consistent no show.

Let me correct this. How in the hell could I screw it up so bad.

NO vote? Even if they sweeten the offer more? This might be a f##ked up place to work for a long while and I dont know if the association could survive that

It will go to Sec 6 and on to mediation by the NMB and they will decide. This is because our leadership does not have the stomach to bring back anything with any hint of a concession as that would be political suicide.

Once again, our representatives will leave things to a 3rd party to decide because they lack the will.

If we look at recent history of the TWU, when the leadership has made controversial decisions, they have paid the ultimate political price.

Not that I agree or disagree with past decisions but that's just the way it is.

NMB doesnt decide squat it mediates not arbitrates

The IAM will have the membership re-vote until they get it right. The IAM also will fight harder for the IAMNPF than anything else:

UT--

Of all the items the company was asking for in each of the proposed concessionary agreements, the *one* thing everyone-junior, senior, 'tween- I spoke with were amenable to was the 401k match. NW would have frozen the pension anyway, so the choice was either the match, or the IAMNP plan. NO ONE wanted the IAM plan, yet it was the one thing the IAM fought hardest for. Not scope, not wages, their plan...

And just how much will retiring folks get from the IAM plan? No one can tell you! The officers in DL143 have no idea how much the multiplier will be.....

Hasn’t the company publicly said they support moving LUS to a 401K with match and they want out of the IAMNPF?

Face it, the company puts out more substantive updates than the association. Perhaps this is all about wanting to retain the IAMNPF for LUS and impose it on LAA TWU to give the plan a much needed cash infusion.

At the end of the day I would think the pension will be retained and contribution increased to equal the TWU 401 which they will retain

Curious Al? You’ve read all the arguments about your Medical and that it’s actually just a percentage that you pay as opposed to me, and read all the LAA folks who say it’s a goner even though I doubt they’d publicly say the same thing if it was THEIR Medical cost about to skyrocket, what do you think on it now?

I would prefer to retain mine of course but I do think 6k is a lot of money perhaps the company could cut down on the absurd amount of managers they hire and meet in the middle. In the end with a gun to.my head we get A As plan
