As Al stated, he doesn't sit alone at lunch, I don't either and when discussion develops or evolves, the contract, its negotiators and the COMPANY are discussed. What makes you think it all has to be rehashed here. Those are "at the moment" conversations and it's back to work.

How much was NYer making? $20,000? Doesn't seem like it's a rape job but I'm not represented by that union so not sure I would have the same time to be as passionate about it. Not that I'm going to get in the way of the AGC's. They will get their new pay hikes, because the membership really is dialed out, I just post to make sure they are informed so they can't come back and say "I didn't know".

Tim, are you able to substantiate this claim with any concrete verifiable sources or documents? Are you speaking FOR the majority of the membership with their full consent?

Why you asking me? Ask Al since he is the one you answered. IMO, the members really don't care about the IAM, at least not enough to bother going to a meeting or even bothering to vote in regards to the pay raises. The IAM bosses will get their raises, even before they sign off on the LUS health care loss. I'm not a member so good for them I guess, I have no interest in this subject other than just informing the members about it.
Will there be consequences down the line? Who the hell knows.

Have you ever sat in a room with a group of people trying to have an intelligent conversation and had one guy that was a conspiracy theorist who was frantically rattling on to the point that they were almost out of breath trying to convince the room? When that person would stop someone reasonable would try to get there point across but that guy would cut the reasonable guy right off and start ranting again. And this time he was almost at the point of yelling to try to get his point across.

Now if you work with that person and he’s on your crew you’re stuck with the guy. You can walk out and leave the guy ranting and your poor other coworkers can be subjected to his lunacy. Or you can “TRY” to remain calm yourself and just keep saying, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO and “HOPE” he walks out of the room himself and you can all have some peace.

Forums really used to be a great place to talk about things in an intelligent way many times if you were on back then AANOTOK.

I have been a part of these forums when that actually existed. Discussion was simple, civil and informative. Now, too many times if someone disagrees then they are labeled, called names and are said to have an agenda. No one here is man enough to let it go and discuss what really matters. And yes, I have been guilty on numerous occasions. (and I unlike others will admit that) while others always blame the other side. Some here will never get it because they are never wrong. For that reason, and others, this forum will NEVER be what it once was.Bring me a JCBA and I'll be happy.

As for the room W, sure, haven't we all. Either laugh or ingnore that person. I don't make it a goal in life to try and change their mind in fear they may pollute the whole membership as some do here. That's just freaking insane and a waste of energy. But to some it really is a bit of paranoia or a personal agenda...Like I said, if your gonna put that much effort into saving the IAM, come on over bagroom, love to work with that kind of effort, as long as it's directed towards bags and not people.

Kinda hard to ignore a guy who’s like a spaced out little ADHD retarded kid poking everyone on the arm trying to get them to pay attention to him so they might buy him an Ice Cream cone and a few Comic books. (Being honest here)

If I lived in Chicago I’d buy him all the Crayons and Coloring books he’d ever need to keep him busy. (That and some Valium)

As for a JCBA I don’t want just anything thrown on the table to appease our appetites. Not saying I need to be a glutton and eat the whole Roasted Pig either, but I’ll be very happy with a nice filling meal that won’t give me any acid indigestion at night. (Meaning it takes two to Tango, Association and Management)

But it is fun to watch him squeeze out dozens of meaningless comments about negotiations when nothing happened in negotiations and they just keep on recycling the same update. And his constant blabbing about what he expects in a JCBA. Can't say that $40 per hour is attainable but I guess nobody can stop him from dreaming.

That raise as I understand it was about a 72% increase from what the stipend was when NYer first took office. I believe (hope) the incoming administration will be reviewing that decision?

The amount that was going in full to the Local MIA President was about $100,000 per year not counting any per diems. The reasoning given by the Financial Secretary was that the President was not on the field and couldn’t do OT like the other officers so why he was bumped up.

$30,000 above his BASE CC Salary is a hell of a lot of OT.

Anyway I suppose that was just one of the issues that the MIA Membership had with the man and why he was ultimately rejected from continuing?

Your AGC’s have been in office for awhile now. Since 2014 they have gotten you 50% in BASE wage increases and a few other little improvements.

Now again it’s none of my business here but if my Local President had negotiated 50% worth of raises for me I would have had ZERO problem with him raising his stipend by 50% (Not 72%)

See my opinion the president of Delta and circumstance got me a 50% raise.The I am has me locked in a stalemate that could last 8 years
