Thats fine that the association put these videos out but guys are not going to sit and watch 2 hours worth of this. I`m hoping the NC and EC understand this and release a comprehensive side by side rebuttal to the company propaganda. We also need to see our current table position. Videos are great but too many will not watch in its entirety.

Nothing personal to any of the other title groups but I do expect members will only go to the sections that concern their groups in particular.

I’m going to be as honest as I think I should be and say that I agree with you. The guys should have made separate videos for each group with PowerPoints and also released a PDF for each group as well stating the current positions on open articles.

But I also have to say that if people REALLY want the information, there it is. I’d like to hope the Membership is smart enough to figure it out or ask questions for the items that are confusing to them.

Most peeps wont watch more than 3 minutes of them saying the same ole.
Some are watching and some have had enough of the video circus. Personally I’m not wasting my time let alone 3 minutes watching them. Put it in writing and I will definitely read it as time permits. Watched the Peterson n Bob Owens contract videos years ago when Peterson was an TWU hater and the twu was selling company friendly contracts. Not “once” did those dissident videos change the course of anything. They were a waste of time then and they are nothing but entertainment for info hungry members now.
Hey ASS,,,, put something in writing. If the cost of the paper is the holdup the membership will pick up the tab.

After leaving the entire membership in the dark for years, NOW all of a sudden they want to be supported and backed up by the membership. Really asso.??? You guys must be smoking something. Come on Bob. What good can come from that? What harm can come from that? I want to know where my negotiating team sits. Its a proposal, not a tenative agreement. I don't want to immediately vote on anything. Let the due process (no matter what a circle jerk I think this is) play out. But we are being kept in the dark as a membership. Stay informed my ASS ociation.

Now here is a update tells what the company wanted and union showed counter proposals. And it shows the names of who was there for company and union. Then the members knows what’s happening and it stops all the wondering and rumors. Why don’t you want to see what the association proposals are.

That's why you guys never heard any BS rumors and misinformation going around at SWA. One thing I will say is, we were very informed, hence the 73% plus NO vote on the first offer.

All they are is information videos and nothing more. If you refuse to watch them then you refuse to be informed.

What good can come from holding my hand up to a flame? Well at least I will learn it is hot! Keep on going with this brand of thinking, and why did I see SWA in the background with that update? So knowing what the Asoc.is asking for will bring peace and tranquility to this land, the peace and comfort in knowing that our Asoc,is working for us to bring us the best contract our union dues can buy? Yep!! you do have a sense of humor!! Seeing what the asoc is asking for will only bring despair, shock and disbelief, because we will be asking "but what about this", " and what about that!!" And our answer will be "sorry boys and girls, we will get them next time". I can remember back when we first fell onto BK, and our local Pres at the time in LAS, Donnie Tyndall (local 502 LAX), the POS that he is, said, and I quote "we are going to cherry pick the best parts of both contracts and come up with something that is across the board, a industry leading contract!!" So ya, I kinda know the Asoc asked for all kinds of lofty stuff, and the mentality going forward they would meet in the middle, LOL. I'll vote yes to any financial gain knowing I have only one more contract after this.
 
I think we should sign the contract soon because the company will claim the foreseeable future they will not have the money to pay us!

And where was this information at thru the entire nego's weez? Why all of a sudden is the NC asking for everyone to get the info as it was never put out before?? And the ONLY reason they are just now trying to get the info. out is because the company released all the info. Period. End of story. You can't keep the membership in the dark for all these years then all of a sudden expect all to rise to the occasion and fully support this asso.
Why is this asso. soooo scared to allow the members to vote on it? Let them decide like AMFA did with us on our first offer...

It's hard for me to believe, but I am agreeing with you again in such short time. I don't think we should sign ahything, but this is all the more reason there needs to be a WRITTEN line by line comparison to the company's ask.

I agree that the Association should have done that. It’s unfortunate but many people do not have the retention skills to be able to make the comparisons in their heads.

I can't say that I do. That's precisely why I want to compare at my own leisure, compare while talking to others. We all know how facts get distorted verbally from person to person.
 
i just listened to the M&R panel on the new video put out by the association. while dry it does explain a few things, and helps to clarify positions. what would have been nice if these videos were put out thru out the negotiation process not just when the association is threatened or pressured to supply information. we as a membership still deserve a score card of the comparisons between the two positions detailing what the differences are and what are the ramifications of each position.
there are a few things that do stand out:
in the beginning of the video its explained that they will take the position that the articles that have been T.A;'d are the ones actually agreed too. what have we been doing since the company published this? should we not have sub committees that are familiar with each article to proofread on a timely basis? after 4 years i would think there would be some type of familiarity.
for those in the conspiracy mode at the 27:27 mark of the M&R panel review the iam reps explains that there is an understanding on the amt position that any additional percent raises would be applied to all groups for fairness. and now that the company came out with the "southwest" proposal into the mix that has changed....
