theres confronting and then there's yelling rhetoric in an unprofessional way for the camera. As far as force majure, hasn't that always been in every contract, isn't it impossible to expect to never have a layoff again in a cyclical business like airline travel, especially if we are to have a bloated work force. It's a BS argument and nothing to never sign a contract because of it.

We are in the error of trump where going bankrupt is not seen as a failure, and as we all know in bankrupt the company can do whatever it wants, so whatever we sign AA can always adjust in bankruptcy.

First of all I would not declare that I am saving our grandkids under the guise of protecting union dues. The TWU should cut the crap out and admit it’s about the dues. On the medical, Lower the LAA and raise the LUS. Maybe halfway with a cap. If any LUS wants to keep their IAMNPF let them but no 401k match. On scope, work out a minimum number of heads to maintain tied into the number of buyouts. The 401k language must be contractual and iron clad. There must also be pension protecting language even though it’s frozen.
ok i want all that also. so how do we get it? you just go in tell isom this is what we want, and he says sure here it is? what if he says no. what do we do then? whats your plan? we know what you are not doing, we know what you want what we dont know is how do you get it?
 
Neither side is giving in. You have Hoffa and Quill trying to stop all outsourcing ..Sorry, ain't gonna happen! Company most likely will not budge on scope and medical.
Never say never and I hope I am wrong. But at this point in time, I doubt we get a contract anytime in the near future.
so you read the scope the company proposed? just take it and surrender? if not what do you do to get what you want?

The problem is the ASSociation wants the numbers of NOW! The medical of LUS/IAM. I'm suggesting the ASS concede a little on the headcount. instead of current headcount, lower the number based on the potential buyouts. And meet halfway on medical in exchange for better 401k language and contribution/match and pension protection.
But what I would do doesn't matter. I'm only a dues payer.

If you or anyone else thinks we are going to get what the ASS wants without any concessions, whatsoever...well just look at SWA and UA for contract talk timeframe.

the company says no we want more, what do you do lower your expectations there bobbi? what do you do to get what you want? no you still did not answer the question. cross your arms and stamp your feet? what do you do to get what you want out of negotiations? its clear they are lying and dragging their feet, there is still no negotiating table on the 6th floor and we are still fed a line of bullshit. did you not see when he asked him about SARS? that fuking happened thats what he did. again i ask again instead of sitting there saying what you want and what you wouldnt do what is your plan of action?

And the reason AMFA is not here or any other union is because too many people have blind loyalty for the TWU.

the early out is gone regardless. All of the aspects of having a defined pension are gone. No payouts if you die. Your family is hosed. Its reduced to a dollar figure now. 5 more years and that will be gone as well..We played this 3 times already.
After the cuts, the pension goes to 115% funded. Then it loses because its only sustanence is benefit devouring.
 
I wouldnt do any favors either.. Lots of guys like to do them favors to help mitigate their inability to manage their operation.
