American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between its Dallas/Fort Worth hub (DFW) and Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF), beginning Dec. 13. The airline will also start nonstop weekend service from Los Angeles International Airport to Santa Fe on Dec. 14.

American Eagle will operate both round-trip services using 44-seat Embraer ERJ-140 jets.

Yesterdays news. Todays news:

Delta Air Lines customers looking to reach Taos, New Mexico's legendary ski slopes or to enjoy a quaint Santa Fe bed and breakfast will find it more convenient this winter when Delta introduces its first-ever nonstop flights between Santa Fe, N.M. and the airline's western gateways at Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, effective Dec. 10*.

SAF just had its crash-fire-rescue rating increased to allow larger aircraft. Previously, I think they were limited to 30 seats or less.

It should be noted that this isn't a direct reponse. AA and DL have both been in talks with SAF officials for a while, and both where fully aware of each others plans to fly to Santa Fe.
