AMFA at AA- consolidated thread

Our representation going from the teamsters to AMFA is as different as night and day. We actually see EXACTLY where all our dues monies are going, every single dime of it. Our treasurer gives a detailed, printed out, step by step itemized financial spread every meeting. And we can set an appointment with him to see it at any time. This is how open and transparent AMFA is. You cannot do this with the teamsters while they were here, NEVER!!! Love the fact we have the option to attend any and all nego's., re-call process to hold all local and National officers accountable to their actions, mechanics running the union, and the craft and class representation with out other groups riding coat tails. With AMFA we don't have to change unions any more, like you guys and US are trying to do now. We can remove the officers from their positions and make change from top to bottom rather than removing the entire union, and you CANNOT do this with any other union out there, period. With AMFA the MEMBERSHIP has control of their union, not the National. A fantastic concept that we will never leave. This is where UAL completely screwed up, they all freaked out and instead of removing the officers that were not performing to the members wishes, they removed the union and are now regretting how they have over reacted. We have had the teamsters for well over 25 years here at SWA. We now have had AMFA for about 10 years. AMFA has hands down accomplished way more than the teamsters did while they were here, way more. I can only hope you guys at AA get a chance to experience the way AMFA works at your airline, you guys will be saying the same as the majority say here, "we should have pulled this trigger years ago".
These are some of the reasons that industrial union bosses will do every underhanded thing they can to stop AMFA from spreading.
They do not want to be held accountable to their membership.
Airlines also do not want to deal directly with their mechanics and have been shown to collaborate with industrial unions to try to keep there pet unions in place and continue the back door dealing that is so easy with unions whose leaders cannot be held accountable.

We at SWA surprised the IBT with our card drive and sent our cards to the NMB before they knew it. We were fortunate to vote them out before they could pull any BS to try and stop us.
I never realized how far a company and industrial union bosses would go to maintain their grip on power and keep AMFA out.

I know this has nothing to do with this topic, but it does have a lot to do with the differences of how the membership controls the union and the fact that Officers are held accountable with AMFA. Below is the results of SWA's/AMFA's current ALR re-call vote: 2013 SWA Airline Rep Recall Election Results
222 Voted Yes re-call ALR
139 Voted No to re-call ALR
A very sad 365 members voted. But it does show a rather large majority wanted change, and got change only because we are AMFA. No other industrial unions can you do this with, none...
Yes, try and recall your teamster business agent or appointed negotiator.
How about your TWU or IAM leaders who settle in and make big salaries with no results and have no reason to fear ever being recalled?

Ain't ever gonna happen.

Are you more obtuse?

Thinking you can announce the results of an election that hasn't taken place by the turnover at a pizza party?

Yes I think you are. In fact I know you are.
Please show me where I said anything about an election or its results, try again, your lying.

Your quote right here

"ibt fails in CLT today with pizza party, only 15 ibt supporters, lol!"

Everyone knows what your insinuation is.

It don't fly here. The vote will show the real results.

Keep hearing how great AMFA is. So why, after being around since the early 1960's they only have about 3000 Members. As a matter of fact, at their peak in '03, they reported to have over 18,000 Members...They've LOST over 80% of the Members.

Then in your post you acknowledge that between 20%-25% of the Members that remain actually even voted for the recall...either way.

Is that really a selling point.

Then they "discourage" working OT. They actually want to control whether a Member works OT. C'mon.

Is that another selling point.

The percentage was closer to 50% of eligible local 11 voters at least 45%.

Who is discouraging working overtime?
Who in AMFA is trying to control overtime?

Some people will always want to be led by someone else and be told what to do by their union bosses.
We prefer to control our own union.

. All unions lose members. Ibt lost 112,000 members in the last few years. This on the internet. IAM lost members. Eastern airlines, TWA, United airlines, Northwest airlines to name a few. TWU lost members at Pan Am. They even lost the AA flight attendants. This is what happens in the airlines. Do you want a craft union that represents one group of workers or a free for all union? With AMFA everything is out in the open. Can you say the same with the TWU or the IBT? If an election is called I will not vote for the teamsters for the one major reason of keeping the teamsters from getting my pension money. We need to think past today and past the idea that any union is better than the TWU. I will excersise my right to use the Write In choice and write in AMFA. Best choice. No back door deals and no hidden agendas. With the teamsters do you know where your inflated dues money goes? Good luck in finding out. Vote AMFA on the Write in.

I choose AMFA not because they will change everything for the better overnight, I choose AMFA not because
I expect my pension back, I choose AMFA not because they are" anything other then the TWU". I choose AMFA
because the big industrial unions (ALL OF THEM) have taken the A&P's for granted , the TWU for instance at
AA has the highest paid stock clerks in the industry while our younger A&P's who now are classified as SRP's
(I think that is the old acronym but you get the gist) are paid about the same as the "Parts Specialists".

Most of us will never see another contract (I hope not to) so why take a chance of the Teamsters raiding
our pension trust ? The future of this craft is why I choose AMFA.

"Write in AMFA"

Please, if anyone knows anyone in US Air, tell them to spread the word that IAM AND IBT is not there only choice. They can use the write in option. Lets rid ourselves of these unaccountable, back door dealing unions.

Write In AMFA!!
