AMFA DEAL TO END STRIKE

Let them decide for themselves.

Not ‘one’ union here other than the NWA AMFA M&R have a right to voice their opinions. We are all ‘coat tailors’ to these proud individuals and have ‘no’ right to judge as we have not had the tenacity to do what these folks have done.

Unions are dead and Unions have killed themselves in the process.

Get over it and move on………

"get it over and move on"...I DOUBT THAT WILL HAPPEN.

The tenative agreement (go away offer) isn't much to vote for. The mechanics who have had the will to keep picketing are not likely to vote for such foolishness.

NWA execs created this mess and now they will have to continue to live with it. IS THAT A BAD THING? 🙂

It isn't a 'bad thing' and as a 41%er from the UA vote, and NWA picketer, I ask everyone here, when did you last walk the line?

UT, I want to thank you for your support in our fight against NW management.

As for me, I picketed last Thursday (10/5), and am going out again on Tuesday (10/10).

"Spock", (or others)

A 757 over/landing in Montana ?

I'm curious, was the A/C going/coming from/to...PDX/SEA or ANC.

Thank you !

NH/BB's

NH/BB, from the "emergency landing" thread... 🙂

The scab-wanna-be-list still figures in to the agreement. The difference between five and ten severance packages. I didn't say you had to be on it to be recalled. If you don't want to quit and don't have a chance at recall, you can stay on layoff. Me??? If, (and thats a big if) this POS passes, I'm quitting. For all practical purposes I have already decided never to return to nwa.
From Dennis Sutton:
We will be at UAW Local 174 all day on oct 18th 9am to 9pm.Meetings at noon and 6pm.
Dennis....

I'm 3 hours away but I'm going to the meetin'. It's the first time since the strike we've had to vote on something. Show up and get a feel for what is really going on. It may help if we have some of our "cooler" heads at the meeting. 😉
Don,
There is no chance for some of us to make the meeting...
I am hoping you will give us an honest opinion of the question/answer session.

I wonder how many of the striking AMT's are of the "I'll just take the $$$ and run" position?

I would think that most of the strikers have no intention of ever setting foot on the property again.

I think the company is more or less banking on that as well. Too bad they didn't do a straight year for year severance (ie 22 years= 22weeks.).

Also, when they say any severance/vacation will be paid at the Schedule A rate, is that the rate as of 19.Aug.2005, or the new rate? That's quite a difference, and could sway some votes, IMO.

Good luck to all of you guys.

I believe it said as of the strike date. I know a guy with 1000+ hours of vaca on the books. It'll be good for guys like him. I left them with .8 I just did a year of strike and it is tough. But its not impossible, and definately not worth crawling under the picket line in shame as a SCAB.

I have over 100 hrs. of vaca...
I could easily take the money and run....
It's just not the reason we went on strike....
Fn SCABS...
