Just another feather in the cap for AMFA representation and the riddance of another industrial union (IAM) out of our industry. Looking forward to the "official" NMB results and release.

It's official now!!! AMFA prevails by a large margin @ almost 70% voting to bring in AMFA to represent the Mechanics Class and Craft. AMFA's release as well as the NMB's listed findings for 2026. Also note that the IAM also failed at JetBlue as well...

Centennial, Colo. – February 25, 2026 – The National Mediation Board (NMB) certified that a majority of aircraft maintenance professionals at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have elected the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) as their collective bargaining representative following a representation election against the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). The ballot tally concluded on February 24 at the NMB office in Washington, DC, with 66% of the votes cast in favor of AMFA. “We are proud to welcome Hawaiian Airlines technicians and related employees into the AMFA family to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our current members,” said AMFA National President Bret Oestreich. “Unlike other unions, we limit our membership to aircraft maintenance professionals who are united in the best interests of their craft. We stay true to our core values of democratic representation and member-driven negotiations.” AMFA’s focused approach has delivered results across multiple carriers. AMFA has negotiated industry-leading contracts at Alaska Airlines, Horizon Air, Southwest Airlines, WestJest Airlines, and Calm Air, with proven success protecting jobs during industry disruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic and airline mergers. AMFA has successfully negotiated contracts that include:
Next, AMFA members will address seniority integration and establish priorities for the group’s first joint collective bargaining agreement (JCBA) with Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines. The Railway Labor Act provides that existing contracts at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines remain in place until the new joint collective bargaining agreement has been ratified. AMFA looks forward to beginning the transition process and working directly with members to prepare for negotiations. ### The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association is a craft-specific, independent aviation union representing Aircraft Maintenance Technicians/Engineers and skilled trade groups actively involved in the aviation industry. These employees work directly on aircraft and/or components, support equipment, and facilities. Oh wow! I missed this post by weezy. As hard as that was for you to post and admit, I will say that that was very adult of you weezyboy. But, also didn't realize that it would just take yet another AMFA take over election win over the industrial unions to get you off these threads. But don't worry there weezyboy, there are plenty more in the works as we speak and I will keep you updated as they come and go. AMFA is still winning in our industry!!!
Hey Dog. Looks like weezyboy is MIA again. He disappeared right after the AMFA election win at Hawaiian/Alaska. Not sure, but wanted to ask if you had anything to do with his disappearance? Or is he just that upset from all his losses as of lately. Oh, and BTW, AMFA just won another election vote in Canada with Ornge Air AME's, this will be the 6th Airline in Canada to bring AMFA in. It's killing the weezyboy to death... Happy trails my friend...

Guessing he wasn’t getting the love he needs here.
He may have finally just accepted defeat as shown in his last post in this thread showing AMFA took the reins in the Hawaiian/Alaska vote over the IAM.

You would think all the practice he gets he would be a better loser.
Oh no way! Not the weez. Yes he has had a lot of practices, however, it still just kills him when AMFA keeps on winning these elections and keep taking out the industrial unions within our industry.
And the layoffs begin. Looks like Hawaiian was a little top heavy with non-union employees. Hate to hear folks losing jobs. Hope it all settles down soon.
