An end to the 40 plus year Cuba travel ban

Honestly this guy that ran as the VP this year, Wayne Allyn Root look like he might be the real deal.

He sure is making the rounds of the conservative talk shows and I hate to say this he's a handsome guy and sadly that makes a difference.

The problem is for Libertarians is often Ballot access. The Republicrats pass laws that make ballot access so expensive that whatever funds a third party candidate raises is spent just getting on the ballot. So what you end up with is a rigged election between Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

You can visit his web site at http://www.rootforamerica.com/

As I have argued many times before, the only any the Libertarians (or any one else for that matter) will get access to the polls and to the offices of higher power is to abolish the electoral college. Until one vote actually counts as one vote, we will have more of the same BS that w all love so much.

The phony left vs. right, liberal vs. conservative, democrat vs. republican paradigm is a scam perpetrated by the ruling elite to divide the masses. U.S. politics are like WWE. In public the politicians follow their script. Behind the scenes they laugh at the great unwashed.
As long as people keep falling for this sham, nothing will change.
Isn't Joe Lieberman an Independent? What a crock!

Seems like a step in the right direction. Hopefully Congress will lift the ban entirely. I would not mind traveling there. My understanding is that it's a beautiful country and the people are very nice. Maybe I can pick up a nice classic and ship it back as a project car .... hmmmmm

Relatives to be allowed to visit.

That could be a cash cow for a lot of Cubans. Selling vintage American automobiles to US citizens.

Seriously though they might as well end the embargo. I know some people might view it as Castro somehow "winning". When you think about it what better way to stick it to the old koot than to open his window and see a Hyatt, Starbucks, McDonalds, KFC, Nike Havana etc, etc. It would also be a good way to irritate Hugo Chavez. Or what better welcome for a Russian bomber crew than to be on short final and see a billboard for Coke.

Ah yes...the progress of capitalism!

I've often wondered why some enterprising Tony Montana didn't open a chain of friendly neighborhood "Cuban Auto Repair" shops in all those old abandoned corner gas stations.

"A one-way ticket the resurrection!" for your old American car.

I don't know who trained those Cuban mechanics but I sure as hell would like to see what they could do on the NASCAR circuit!

Those.guys.are.good!

They are trained by way of necessity. If they don't figure out how to fix it, it will not run and that is the end of that.

If we normalize relations with Cuba what do we do with the boat people that try to come here. And, can we send back the ones that Carter let in?

Che was tracked down by U.S. backed Bolivian troops, captured and murdered at the behest of the CIA. Che was a real revolutionary who practiced what he preached and genuinely cared about the down trodded masses; Castro just wanted power.
The only reason for the embargo has been the political influence of the exiled elite Cuban community in Miami. They're pissed because Bacardi had to move to Puerto Rico!
Perhaps if Che's dream of one united Latin America from Mexico to Patagonia would have been realized( which was also the dream of the Liberator Simon Bolivar), you wouldn't have the large influx of immigrants from Latin America (legal or otherwise) that you do today.

Was it not you that said of communism To me communism/capitalism are two sides of the same coin, both controlled by banking and ruling elites. Communism was allowed to die because it served its purpose; which was to build a huge military industrial complex in the U.S.,and have a captive population in Russia; . Since Che Guvera was a follower of communism I guess that means he was either an unwitting dupe or a card carrying member of a vast conspiracy.
