I actually like this topic. When I was a new hire at TWA on reserve I had I had assignments with some very senior ladies. These ladies actually showed me the ropes and mentored me and others newbies. I was amazed how hard they worked with such dignity and grace.
I will never forget working LAX-LHR with the 13 most senior f/a's and I ended up working f/c galley on the 747. I was so scared...all that food and service...ovens packed for several services. We still served caviar then and salad cart...chateau cart...etc. The two ladies working with me really went out of their way getting me up to speed. I will never forget that flight.
When we got to LHR they asked me to join them for lunch. My feet were hurting and I was exhaused. I thought how can they do this every month? And I was 27 at the time. I decided to join them after a much needed shower. When I went down to the lobby they were having a bottle of wine and cocktails. We had lunch and then they were hitting the pavement to their favorite shops. I was hitting the bed. I guess you are only as young as you feel.
I wish all of you at US & AW the best.
