mweiss - What's your problem?

That's me, yes. I am opinionated. You gotta problem wit dat?

Checked your bio, and it was basically a blank page.

What are you hiding? Who are you? What is your claim to fame, or have you none?

Are you a captain? How many hours, with whom?

I'll be pro- and anti- anything I please, if you don't mind.

And I'll be as anonymous as I please. 'Tis one of the many wonders of the Internet, is it not?

Care to explain the revenge comment?

And, lest I forget...I do have a couple of claims to fame. They're even online.

Santa Fe war protester says she'll sue airline

By Sue Vorenberg
Tribune Reporter

A Santa Fe woman who was ejected from a Dallas-Fort Worth
International Airport terminal says she plans to sue American Airlines.

During a rainstorm Tuesday night in which her plane was grounded,
Carole Ward, 57, showed some of her fellow passengers - who were
military recruits - an 8 by 11-inch poster of a composite illustration
of President Bush made up of the faces of soldiers who have died in
Iraq, she said. It bore the title "Faces of Death."

"They were just college-age kids who were sitting around talking,
waiting for the plane to reboard," Ward said. "I showed them the
poster, and they seemed more amused by it than anything, but then
their recruiter saw it and became furious."

The recruiter reported the poster to the gate agent, who warned Ward
to stop talking to other passengers and to put the poster away, Ward
said.

"That's when I pointed out my First Amendment rights," Ward said. "All
I was doing was talking to people."

But Tim Wagner, a spokesman for American, said Ward became belligerent
with the gate agent, made some passengers feel uncomfortable and
presented a security threat.

"She's not only going around talking to these recruits, saying they
shouldn't join the Army, they shouldn't fight in the war - she's also
forcing the poster on them," Wagner said.

Ward, who was returning from a Libertarian convention in Atlanta, said
that she didn't force the poster on anybody and that she went back to
her chair after talking to the gate attendant.

"About five minutes later, the police came and threw me out," Ward
said. "I didn't even have my shoes on. I had left them, with my
luggage, on the plane. They dragged me out and left me barefoot in the
rain."

Wagner said the gate agent asked airport police to remove Ward from
the secure side of the terminal, but airport spokesman Ken Capps said
that the officers only monitored the situation and that Ward left on
her own.

Ward disputes that. She says police escorted her out and threatened to
arrest her if she talked to anybody.

Once outside, Ward took a van to the Hampton Inn and paid for a hotel
room for the night, she said.

"They even lost my shoes," she said.

Ward says she's been in contact with Libertarian party officials, who
are trying to find her a civil rights attorney.

"I'm going to sue," she said. "I want reimbursement for my hotel, for
my shoes and for my plane ticket. I will never set foot on American
Airlines again."

From his profile Captain Ed must be in his late age 70s, having [presumably] retired as a TWA pilot in in 1987 at the mandatory age of 60.

If he feels that someone age 57 is an "old woman", maybe he reflects on himself at that same age; but I think and hope not.

Age alone cannot justify or excuse stupid behavior.

Seems to me that people want to live in a world where they will not be inconvenienced or made to feel uncomfortable or uncomfortable. Well, to them I say, “tuff ####â€￾.

My family are survivors of the Holocaust. When the New Nazis wanted to march in Skokie (sp?) IL way back when, we had some very heated diner discussions. It took a while to convince my parents that they had to be allowed to march and that it was the right thing to do. You don’t have to agree with what they say, but you have to agree to let them say it. Don’t like it? Then don’t listen to them. Very simple.

Where in the Constitution does it say that I have the right not to be offended, made uncomfortable … etc? As long as they do not threaten my safety, they can do what they want.

A 57 year old woman is not dangerous in a physical sense, i.e. she did not represent a physical danger with her presence.

She's probably Irish, like my 66 year old wife, and has a sharp tongue like her.

I'm 72, and though not feeble, I am not dangerous, unarmed. Older people are vulnerable, not dangerous.

The danger we represent is our knowledge, and the freedom to speak of what we know.

That's what I meant in the case of Carole Ward.

Garfield, if I recall correctly, the leader of the Nazi Rally in Skokie was himself a Jew, according to a friend of mine from Skokie.
