This is APA Communications Director Gregg Overman with the APA Information Hotline for Thursday, Aug. 9.
FO KEITH WILSON SELECTED AS INTERIM APA PRESIDENT: As announced earlier today, Captain Dave Bates resigned as APA President effective late yesterday. This afternoon the APA Board of Directors selected LGA-based 777 First Officer Keith Wilson to serve as interim APA President. With less than a year remaining in Captain Bates’ term, APA policy permits the Board to select an interim president.
First Officer Wilson’s prior APA experience includes serving three terms as DCA Domicile Vice Chairman. He has also served as a member of the APA Negotiating Committee, Benefits Review and Appeals Board and Financial Audit Committee.
APA President First Officer Wilson, APA Vice President Captain Tony Chapman, Secretary-Treasurer First Officer Scott Shankland and the APA Board of Directors will issue a joint message later today regarding next steps for the pilots we represent.
