My Goodness ...

Now they have unity and Cahones.

Hope our members who voted Yes are taking notes.

... unity and "drawers"? Understood, anyway.

At any rate, those who should be taking the notes just wouldn't get it. When one gets used to conspicuous consumption, it's a hard thing to cut back on - I mean, what would the neighbors think?

Anything to keep the bills paid.

the pilots did what they thought was right and did not listen the rhetoric of the company or their union board. Good for them for standing tall while the twu rolls over again

I'd wait and see what the next step is before celebrating...

Mr. E, the next step should be obvious - they're going to hit the pilots with a term sheet and start a war. By God, that'll show those egotistical flyboys who's boss, won't it?

After all, when you've an infestation of deities on the 6th floor of Centrepork, pilots flying the aircraft is option - isn't it?

E, surely you don't think that the company would try some draconian measures on the pilots. Won't all the doomsayers be disappointed if the company decides that the wise thing to do might be to return to the negotiating table and attempt to reach a mutually acceptable agreement--not just impose what will result in the largest executive bonusses?

Though it might mean being away from family for extended periods, the pay at those very short-handed Asian airlines is wildly more than what AA is offering. If the company just does its usual and tries to force the pilots to work under severe pay cuts and horrible work rules, they may be surprised.

They don't need pilots some of us can taxi these birds all over the airport haha

Yeah, particularly since the FAA is going to ground them until they get repaired. Maybe we could just use them as tour busses at the airport. "Ladies and Gentlemen, if you will look to the right at the huge empty building on the other side of the runway, that is where we used to employ thousands of mechanics repairing our airplanes. Now if you will look to your left at the terminal with all the empty, abandoned gates, that is where we used to park the airplanes we used in the domestic service before the Wright Amendment expired last year."

An American Airlines spokesman confirmed Friday afternoon that the carrier will ask U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane to toss out the collective bargaining agreements of unions that turn down the company’s latest contract proposals.

Earlier Friday, John Hale, American Airlines vice president of operations, told pilots that American will ask Lane to let the carrier abrogate the labor contracts if pilots turn down a tentative agreement.

Subsequently, the American spokesman confirmed that yes, American will also move to reject the contracts of any union that turns down the deal sitting before its members.

If they impose a term sheet on the pilots and the pilot's walk, your yes vote does you no good when AA locks you out. Oh.... Didn't think about that did you before you bent over and grabbed your ankles? At least I can look people in the eye and say I voted no when it all turns to crap. How about a recall of local officers in 514? Any yes voters wanna bet me on the early opener? Or the prefunding refund? I have a picture in my head of all these yes voters who post on here with a blank look in their eyes as they are escorted off the base. "The TWU lied to me! Why didn't anybody tell me?" 25 measly votes is all we needed. Good luck in your next job. You just voted OUR careers away.
