So over on the US Airways forum someone posted about a conference the APA guys are at right now over in Paris. Must be nice:

This has me steamed. I'm not a pilot, but in negotiations the pilots are clearly the leaders of the labor groups. If they can't put energy and effort into getting themselves a better deal than the judge will offer, all of us suffer for it.

Why are they wasting time and money partying it up in Paris while there is important work to be done at home??

The Pilots seen to be doing just fine with their attorneys and the presentation of their case starts next week.

Your question translates into "My Union Sucks and I Need the Pilots to Help/Bail Me Out"

That is understandable but not their duty.

Good Luck!

You get a gold medal for ingenuity as I think we may have just ventured into new territory here. Usually, we are blamed for everyone else's problems AFTER they have screwed themselves. Now, we have someone taking the initiative of blaming us BEFORE they even screw themselves.

Sorry, I would type more but I am busy "partying it up" here in Paris. Drinking wine, hangin' with dozens of Parisian hotties....woooooohoooooo!!!!!

frontline,

Get your head out of the sand. AA pilots are part of a company that has a worldwide presence through it's alliances. If you weren't so focused on your envious little populist views, you might realize that many of pilots working for AA's partners are facing the same pressure that AA's pilots.

Look at Iberia. Is it surprising that they're getting the same demand for 20% paycuts as the AA pilots are? They are also covering the bases with other pilot groups in case IAG wants to play pilots within the alliance against each other. Are you aware of IBeria Express which is directly transferring aircraft away from the mainline without the pilots? Are you aware that IAG/AA could set up a hub in MIA that could take 90% of AA's MIA/DFW/JFK Latin American flying and shift it to foreign crews flying out of MIA? AA pilots know this and other risks and that is why a high level APA rep is present in Paris. Why? Because that is where most of the other alliance partners are located or fly to with widebodies.

I know all our APA reps are working their arses off to the detriment of their families and their health for the benefit of the pilot group. I'll let you in on another fact. No pilot is going to look upon a working trip to paris as some funzy trip. Personally, if I won the use of a GV to Paris for a 3 day trip on my days off, I'd sell it to you for $100.

In short, your post is nothing but hysterical B.S.
