Hey azzwhole.....I do not hate Muslims......The guy is on record as having studied the Muslim faith.

The sources said the background check concerned Mr. Obama's years in Jakarta. In Indonesia, the young Obama was enrolled in a Madrassa and was raised and educated as a Muslim. Although Indonesia is regarded as a moderate Muslim state, the U.S. intelligence community has determined that today most of these schools are financed by the Saudi Arabian government and they teach a Wahhabi doctrine that denies the rights of non-Muslims.

Although the background check has not confirmed that the specific Madrassa Mr. Obama attended was espousing Wahhabism, the sources said his Democratic opponents believe this to be the case--and are seeking to prove it. The sources said the opponents are searching for evidence that Mr. Obama is still a Muslim or has ties to Islam.

I think you misinterpreted the analogy.
Under Islam, there is no 'do over' and one whom has committed to Islam, has only recourse one conversion if from Islam to (whatever). That 'choice' is life or death.

The question to be answered is, 'what was his commitment'?
Maybe 'Yall' should consult with an Imam or two for the answer.

That's a question you should be asking Dell, he seems to think that it means something. I do not mean that as a slam against Dell; he often provides insight to these discussions that is thought provoking, and he may have additional insight regarding this nominee.

I just think it is a bit funny, that when something is posted about an arab-CHRISTIAN, people respond with MUSLIM rhetoric (as if they just assumed that because someone is arab, that automatically makes them muslim).

I missed the inference (as may have Local & Dell). But you should admit that your initial post is misleading and most have responded likewise missing your point.

The question still remains as to what His commitment was during his 'schooling' and what influence remains.

Had He never went to this 'schooling', I doubt it would be an issue as there are 'many' Christian Arabs as there are Muslim Non-Arabs.

Regardless, He'll never get my vote based on his platform, not his religion and/or ethnicity.
