Did you read any or just do your usual spam?
You asked for the information. Don't hold me responsible because you don't like the answer.
Makes one think of the fake GW info........remember the hockey stick you liked so much?
Religion depends much upon faith and archeology offers proof that the written word was correct. Not always, but religion has to change when evidence is there contradicting it. What you speak of was in the early days of scientific development. There was nothing other than religion to offer explanation, but that changed and science and religion adapted. So whats your point?
I don't remember a sermon on a flat earth or 6000 year old planet ever.....except back in Galileo's day.....maybe you ought to go to a sermon and see for your self its changed a little since the days of Galileo and Copernicus.
I must admit that I never heard about the 6000 year creationism/young earth theory until this thread.
It was never taught in the churches/studies I attended (and I've attended many variations), and I mostly read the New Testament.
It is interesting to note that there is not one link to a church (that I found) teaching this but a debate amongst 'everyone else' on it's merit tracing Old Testament Biblical Genealogy. Even many of these 'calculators' do not agree with their own conclusions.
But then again, the world ended last Saturday on the 21st of May, 2011...![]()
Oh good grief. Like a god is going to restore someones faith with money? Seriously? What kind of idiots would believe this?
God and the Lotto. Seriously?
Who are you to question ANYONE'S Belief's? Since you have none what experience do you have with a religion that would allow you credibility in speaking on the veracity of the young man's moment of enlightenment?
Setting aside the legality issue for a moment. Can you explain to me why people of faith feel compelled to proclaim their faith publicly? What is preventing people from exercising their faith in private?
You seem to have no difficulty proclaiming your lack of faith publicly as this is a public forum. So I fail to see the difference. The judges ruling was pretty clear cut and it's not the first one either. Courts are starting to revisit the original intent of the Founding Fathers as it applies to the separation of Church and state.
Since atheists, by their own admission are not organized & do not believe in one of the key elements of religion i.e. the existence of God. One could reasonably argue that someone with no religion would have no standing in a legal proceeding over the separation of church & state.
Did you miss the part about this being a discussion forum?
One could argue that the world is flat? Given the fact that we are citizens of the US and pay taxes we have standing to contest anything that takes part or has anything to do with the public domain which is supported by our taxes. I would have expected you to have a better understanding of US law.
So again I will ask. Why do people of faith feel compelled to display and proclaim their religion in public rather than in a private setting?
