One of the things I've always found interesting with atheists is the concept of morals, values & ethics.

Think about it, you grow up in a society whose laws and social mores are taken from the teachings of a man who is supposed to be the Son of God, yet God to you doesn't exist. Where did you learn that killing was wrong? Science didn't prove that, a value system based upon the existence of God taught you.

Also have you ever pondered that what others call God might just be a member of a superior race of beings. Could it be that this whole thing called Earth & the Solar System just be some 8th grade science project?

There is no proof what so ever that there is or ever was a god. The morals that you are pondering are simply a more concise version of "the golden rule'. It's self preservation. I do not want to be murdered so I will not murder you.

To argue that your god is what brought about civil society is to discount civil society that existed long before Christianity was even thought about. To argue that your god is the basis for all that is good is the height of arrogance and ignorance.

I believe the Hebrew and Chinese calendars go back over 5,000 years and both cultures practiced a religion or two. You mentioned Christianity, not I.

You can not disprove the existence of God anymore than I can prove it, so why waste the bandwidth?

Where did the "Golden Rule" come from? Likely from some guy/gal who had some kind of spiritual training i.e belief in God. Just a point to ponder as the evening lengthens.

No it cannot be proven one way or the other, but you folks seem to keep trying to force it on the rest of us. Keep your religion private and out of the public sector. Keep it out of schools, keep it out of the court room, keep it out of my bed room. Keep it out of my life. If my actions do not affect you then you have no say in it.

Lets try this. Given that I do not believe in god for me it stands to reason that religion is a man made concept not a god based one. So since religion is man based so are the morals that you claim it created.

I actually have met both Atheists and Congress Critters which could well explain my disdain for both in general. I'll tell you who is very impressive in person is Michele Bachman. Yeah she says some dumb stuff but she's damn charismatic in person. She could be our first female President if things fall exactly right.

In some ways she's a right wing Barack Obama. Very charismatic in person. Not a centrist in any manner and an extremely good politician. If she somehow makes it to the White House we will see if she is just an empty suit like the current resident or something more substantial.

OH, now it's splitting hairs? Their beliefs are of a natural god. It is in no way related to any god of any religion. It is far closer to an atheistic POV than a theistic POV.
