As for Palin and hr family values BS. She preached abstinence only. No sex ed as it promotes promiscuity. Apparently Bristol did not need sex ed to be promiscuous and get knocked up before she got married. Had Palin joined the 21'st century and conceded that abstinence, while preferred, is not always going to happen, sex ed and contraceptives is a good way too go, we would not be having this argument.
There are far to many kids having kids in this country. IIRC, the US has one of the highest teen birth rates in the world as far as 'western nations' are concerned.
UNICEF
That's not a title we should be proud of and it needs to be dealt with. The point Palin was trying to make was that if no one had sex then there would be no teen pregnancy issue. Well guess what. She probably had sex before marriage. Her daughter had sex before marriage. There are a lot of things that sound really nice. Then there is reality which does not always agree. Sex for humans is not solely for reproduction. Were that the case, the human male would be able to detect when a woman is in 'heat' and only have sex then. Not sure about you but I will have sex pretty much any time my wife will let me. Teen males are as horny as they come. The girls are horny as well. Telling them to 'looky but no touchy' is asinine on it's face. It did not work for you and won't work for a majority of the kids out there.
Palin trotted her kids out there as a family values example was BS. No one was talking about 'making on your own'. No one was talking about not needed assistance. People were talking about teen pregnancy and about how Bristol was the new poster child for the fact that 'just say no' does not work. Does not work for drugs, did not work for alcohol, and it does not work for sex.
As for bible thumping. Not to keep on a woman who has 'visions/hallucinations being VP but that's just a thing I have about people who are near the button. She was on Youtube talking like a fool to imaginary voices but the link was removed due to "terms violations". Quite funny really. I just want people to keep their religion to them selves and keep it out of politics. Is that so much to ask?
Perhaps the Libertarian Viewpoint needs to e heard here:
3.5 Rights and Discrimination
We condemn bigotry as irrational and repugnant. Government should not deny or abridge any individual's rights based on sex, wealth, race, color, creed, age, national origin, personal habits, political preference or sexual orientation. Parents, or other guardians, have the right to raise their children according to their own standards and beliefs
1.1 Expression and Communication
We support full freedom of expression and oppose government censorship, regulation or control of communications media and technology. We favor the freedom to engage in or abstain from any religious activities that do not violate the rights of others. We oppose government actions which either aid or attack any religion.
1.2 Personal Privacy
We support the protections provided by the Fourth Amendment to be secure in our persons, homes, and property. Only actions that infringe on the rights of others can properly be termed crimes. We favor the repeal of all laws creating "crimes" without victims, such as the use of drugs for medicinal or recreational purposes.
1.3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the rights of individuals by government, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws. Consenting adults should be free to choose their own sexual practices and personal relationships. Government does not have the authority to define, license or restrict personal relationships.

I think some of the more conservative Christians would do well to read these few paragraphs.
Has nothing to do with preaching family values Deleted by Moderator: Spelling obscenities with diacritical marks does not make them less so.

TY for the clarification. I agree wholeheartedly with this post. I fall into your description as well, and I liked how you termed the phrase, "they review". I agree, Piney.See this is where it gets interesting. I happen to be what one would call a "Conservative Christian".
I just happen to believe that my faith is deeply personal and I've no desire to convert those who believe differently and that's my beef with my brethren. The so called "Moral Majority" seeks to impose their version of faith upon the rest of us and thus my suggestion they review the Libertarian Party viewpoint.

KudosIt happened when Jesus was on earth and it still happens now. Back in that day, many thought the messiah would be a conquering King, setting up a kindgom on earth by establishing God's laws on earth and requiring subjects to live accordingly. Rather, Jesus sought to change the hearts of people by an extraordinary act of service. Unfortunately, people still try to do what Jesus never did... "change" people by imposing upon them a set of rules to live by. Jesus had strong words for similar people.
I respect everyones' opine, but...........................You are correct!!
Just don't tell that to the "Righteous Flock" lest ye be vilified.
If you read the relatively small parts of the Bible where it is Jesus speaking it's interesting to note very little mention of sin. However he sure did have a lot to say about hypocrisy. He also took action against the money lenders and threw them out of the temple.
