An honest, upstanding, selfless citizen like Kirby couldn't possibly have any alterior motives for doing so, would he?

AWA never went CH11. And if so had a great chance of coming out of it because our costs were already under control. We only were a victim of revenue generation due to too much capacity in the marketplace.

This in no way compares to 2, count them 2 BK for USAirwasy. There is no doubt that you were looking at a CH7 before we even went to the courthouse to file CH11 papers. We all know there was no plan B for East prior to the merger, which means every pilot would have been on the street before Mr. Odell.

West flight attendant with 10yrs seniority. Nothing to brag about. I didn't have any choice when it came to the the AFA bylaws. Date of hire period! I have worked under a mismanaged company all this time. Nothing has changed. Have been payed under all legacy carriers, and regionals the whole time. My choice of course. I think if it wasn't for US AWA merger, yes my job would have been in jeopardy. I am very happy that we mergered with US. I just hope things will work out for all work groups. You remind me of the French in WWII!!! They hid behind the false sense of security of having built the Maginot Line to defend themselves. I just hope there can be healing on the East part, and we can all move on. I for one am especially respectful to all the East flight attendants too, who have gone thru this all to many times.

We have it seems made each others point. You're stone cold correct in that employees are better off with the merger because if it didn't happen most if not ALL of you would be on the street because it was highly likely though not a sure thing that neither would be alive today. So on the above we agree.

If you want the "Healing" to begin then you have to unite against your enemy. Your enemy is not your brethren from the "other" airline. Your enemy is the Moneylenders & Bean Counters who care not one wit for you or I!

They honestly don't care if you or I are happy for 30 seconds of our lives as long as they make money off of us. When that stops, they will then at least act interested.

The bottom line, they never get it!? Take care of your employees first. AWA was never the perfect airline people think it was. We have a lot of employees that dwell on the good ole days, but the fact is this airline was mismanged from day one. IF it wasn't for the great people who have stayed all these years, there would have never been a survivalable AWA or US Airways. And that goes for all our PSA, Alleghany, Piedmont folks on the East side. Great employees who have sacrificed TOO MUCH!! Sadly the story goes on and on. 🙁
